You’ll always be in my heart, Clementine and Lee.One of the very first games to ever move me to tears—just like Life is Strange and The Last of Us Part I did when I was a teenage girl. I cried back in 2018, and now, in 2025, as an adult, I find myself in tears once more.
A true masterpiece.
Life will never be the same again. This is one of the most heartbreaking stories I’ve ever experienced—whether in a game, a book, or a film. I wish I could erase my memory just to relive it all over again for the first time.Keep that hair short.

A game that shows you don’t need flashy graphics or nonstop action to create a masterpiece — just a powerful story.

I first played this game when it was released 12 years ago - loved it then, and love it again with the replay. The story line and game play are great and accessible, particularly for someone whose hand-eye coordination isn't what it used to be :D

Sometimes, a game stays with you even years after you last played this. Telltale's The Walking Dead is one of those games. Season 1 is one of the most emotionally powerful experiences I've ever had in gaming, with deeply moving writing and a story that focuses on the connection between Clementine and Lee, the playable character. Their relationship is depicted in such a sincere way that it's nearly impossible to not feel some sort of emotional attachment to either one of them.
You don't just play as Lee — you become him. Watching his relationship with Clementine grow from strangers to a father-daughter relationship is beautiful and heartbreaking all at once. It is no wonder why in future seasons, Clementine thinks of Lee even more strongly than even her own parents.
The writing, the voice acting, the pacing... it all comes together to create a story that feels real, raw, and unforgettable. Even now, I miss Lee.
If you haven't played this title yet, now is the perfect time to make use of the sale. Alternatively, get every game in the Definite Series. You will not regret it.

Lee and Clementine make for two great leads with this being one of the very few times in a game where a child character is both likable and is allowed to act like a kid in a believable way. Lacks the constant use of bad tropes, cliche villain lines and speeches, and useless people showing up just to die or do nothing like some of the later games had and has some great memorable moments and acting. The characters that are with you the longest each get a complete story arc, and while they might not all be likable, each makes the game better.
The game focuses on telling a good story with more exciting sequences rather than having a focus on puzzle solving, with the mechanics typically being interactions with obvious spots or people in the environment. The use of QTE events work well in this game either for attacking a zombie or to quickly interact with objects during a tense moment, while avoiding some of the more overly ridiculous moments of later games. Though in the years since releases the way of handling its gameplay have become more common now. Choices won't change the story's path but can effect dialogue and reactions to you giving you a different experience through it.
