Duelyst

Despite it's many flaws, there were a lot of things that I liked about Duelyst, and it'll always have a special place in my heart.
In particular I really liked it's unique concept of having a board to place your units on, as it made positioning especially important since you could either protect yourself with minions, even if they didn't have taunt. Or surround your opponent to limit what they could do on their turns. Which added an extra layer of depth to your typical card games.
Aside from that I also really liked each of the factions (with Abyssian and Vanar being my personal favorites). Not only were all of their designs very distinct, but each faction also had various different play-styles, especially after the other generals and Bloodborne Spells were added.
Also despite the "balance" of the game being questionable at times I honestly really enjoyed it. There were plenty of things that I complained about being "100% ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" after losing but at least as far as I remember it felt like every class had something about them that made them "strong" or "annoying" rather than 1 or 2 classes just being outright oppressive.
Unfortunately though, none of that really matters since the game is now dead as hell. RIP Duelyst you will be missed.
