⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ American Truck Simulator Helped Me Pass My CDL Exam!
I want to personally thank the developers for creating a game that’s not only fun but surprisingly educational. I’ve been playing American Truck Simulator for over 300 hours, and I can honestly say it played a major role in helping me pass my CDL driving exam.
This game taught me how to use my mirrors effectively, how to back up a trailer, and how to maneuver tight turns and curbs — all the kinds of real-world skills you need as a truck driver. The attention to detail, realistic physics, and the immersive experience truly helped train my eyes and mind for what it’s like behind the wheel of a big rig.
I also want to give a shoutout to the support team — I recently had a technical issue, and I’ve already reached out because I truly miss playing this game. It’s that meaningful to me.
If you’re even remotely interested in trucking or getting your CDL, or if you just want an incredibly satisfying and peaceful simulator experience, this game is worth every penny.
Thanks again, SCS Software — this isn’t just a game, it’s a tool that helped me launch a real career.

Update 8/31/2025: I'd like to note that on 08/18/2024 I aquired my CDL Class A. I give about 75% credit to this simulation in helping me reach my goal. Guess what I was doing the night before? Yep, practicing in Driving Academy.

I used this to pass my CDL road test, (I'm using the G923 steering wheel with clutch and the elgato stream deck for dashboard controls + Meta Quest for more realism) this is one of the best games for truck driving that I've ever played hands down, there are some differences with IRL trucks and the trucks here, but it almost feels like 2nd nature when I got out of here and used a real truck for the exam

70 years old and this is my first game. Still building hand eye coordination, but WASD is a new concept for me.

-Ran red lights
-Drove on the wrong side of the road
-Cut people off
-Expect everyone else to yield to me no matter what
-Still get pissed off when I have to pass someone on the right
10/10 for realism

It is both one of the most boring and one of the most addicting games I've ever played. I'm not even slightly interested in driving trucks in real life, yet I've sunk an insane amount of hours into this the last 2 weeks. I love it.

This game makes me sleepy, like, A LOT. So much that i use it when i have insomnia and can't sleep at night.
The cars are also very realistic in America, drivers being very dumb and cutting you off on the highway just for existing too.
