Discover the beautiful world of Nihilumbra and join Born on his adventure to find himself whilst trying to escape from his inevitable curse. Born was created from the absolute nothingness: The Void. But somehow he separates himself from the black emptiness and appears in the world.

I played this game many years ago on my phone and loved it. Picked it up again on PC and it is still as good as I remember.
A beautiful blend of story and puzzle game.

I like the graphics and the concept of escaping the void and I only have fine motor control in my right hand this game is easy to play.

It's a good puzzle platformer.
I don't think it's a groundbreaking game or a game that puzzle lovers must play, but if they do, they'd probably enjoy it.

Nihilumbra is a musically & artistically beautiful, puzzle platformer, that has a simplistic story to tell and an equally simplistic control scheme to go along with it. While my time playing this title was short, I found it a charming and visually interesting enough experience to leave it on a positive note. But understand that positive note does come with its own caveats.
For one, all my game pad warriors out there be forewarned... this game is just straight up mouse & keyboard . While that may not be an issue for some, its a rather puzzling choice (teehee) that a puzzle platformer would opt to force the player into adjusting to its cumbersome control scheme when it doesn't really seem to add anything to the games overall experience. Especially in the "later" levels, that ramp up the difficulty EXPONENTIALLY .
It's certainly not the best in its genre, and the unnecessary increase in difficulty on the later half takes what would have been a decently casual title and teeters it slightly into the frustrating side. But if you're looking for a bit of a challenge and the KB & Mouse combo don't turn you off, then Nihilumbra is a decent way to spend an afternoon learning about the meaning of life...I think.
I would consider waiting for a sale though.

A short game from my childhood. Its pretty cool but personally I don't like the narration so I turned it down to like 5%. Has extra challenges after completion to 100% the game as well.

Fun experience, nice mechanics. The main story is short, but then Void mode unlocks, with much harder levels. Loved to 100% this.
Kind of buggy sometimes, but very enjoyable. If you are having physics issues or bullets acting funny, try changing your framerate. I played on 144hz but to get one of the achievements (Rebound master), I had to disable VSync which lowered the FPS to 60, because the bullets were colliding with each other on higher framerates.

Although I agree with many negative reviews in there, there is a sincerity to this game that doesn't let me myself leave a negative review. The silly easter egg with developers' faces, the section with concept art and development notes that has scans of the small notebooks these were wrote in... a great share of care was put into creating into Nihilumbra, and it shows.
It's by no means a perfect game:t the puzzles sometimes rely on trial and error, the narration can be a bit cheesy at times, but we all make mistakes. It is a cozy little experience that I find myself recommending in spite of any downsides, beacuse it feels like a game by people who just wanted to make a game. It is, in a way, the essence of indie gamedev - worth at least a try.
