Well, I came back home only to see the end of Deathgarden, I don't know what to say really..... I had faith in it, loved the concept of it, but I guess it didn't work out. Fairwell, Fairwell... Anyway, this game is free now so you might wanna give it a try, you got nothing to lose. (unlike me who bought the game 3 month ago no refunds -_- ) So yea, try it out, have fun, and say goodbye :3
Edit: can we at least get a few DBD skins for ppl who "bought" the game? To show we supported the team? Plz

Great reboot. It feels great to play this game as a scavenger now, you don't have to rely on your teammates anymore to have fun or succeed. Game's optimization is great too, I can play on Ultra with 80+ fps consistently on a 1060 6gb and i5 4690k.

They did some wonderful work in rebooting and redefining their game. The industry so needs more developers who both take responsible steps to both show love and loyalty to their games. The bare failure that was before has been totally revamped into a very nice atmospheric Dead By Daylight/Friday The 13th/White Noise 2 type mashup game but retains it's own lore, atmosphere and slant on the genre. It ran pretty smoothly for me, haven't noticed any tech problems so far. Also go a free gift copy after purchase I can pass on to another gamer. (my son in my case..lol). certainly worth the money, even at full price and a steal on any kind of sale.
Certainly recommend it. Not sure if their are bots but adding some for future viability (considering what happened to the orginal version and ALL games like this) would be the best thing to do, and as I said , for any game of this nature to ensure viability if a low playerbase becomes the norm.

Deathgarden has the same DNA as Behaviour’s similar title, Dead by Daylight, where a powerful killer stalks a group of survivors. While Dead by Daylight is focused on slow, careful horror that occasionally spikes with a jump scare, Deathgarden is fast-paced and frantic. More than once, I would finish a round with my hands shaking and my heart pounding.
Each match has five Scavengers and one Hunter. The Hunter is invincible, equipped with powerful abilities, and packs an arsenal of weaponry. Scavengers are fast, hard to spot, capable of climbing terrain, and have unique abilities that help them evade and escape. The Scavengers have one ability and a small bow and arrow; they’re otherwise helpless. The Hunter is a first person shooter, the Scavengers have a third person view and few offensive capabilities.
The Scavengers have to wait out a timer; once it ends, they can escape through exits around the map. They can also collect blood and turn it in at pillars around the map. This is far riskier, but once 125 blood has been turned in, the end game triggers. The Hunter can also trigger an early end game by killing all Scavengers but one.
While blood pick-up and drop-off centers form the major objectives on the map, there are also detection drones, ammo crates, power cores, and even rare ‘golden crates’ which give unlimited resources to whoever claims it.
Deathgarden: Bloodharvest has a lot of potential, and I’ve been surprised at how much time I’ve dedicated to it since its launch. The trick will be ensuring that there’s gas in the tank to keep this relaunch going; it’s already faltered once, after all. This means that there’ll need to be a steady flow of new content, lest players find themselves resenting the grind of unlocking high level talents and cosmetics. The good news is that the world of Deathgarden allows for new content that could be fun and inventive.

Now that the game has officially died, I feel like it's time to give my thoughts.
This game has been my favourite game of all time but also simultaneously the most frustrating game I've ever played.
I have supported the game since the beta and have had an active role in private playtests.
When I first played the beta I was instantly sold. It didn't take long to appreciate the fluid movement, beautiful maps, interesting abilities and game objectives, and most importantly; thrilling chases.
This game has a very high skill ceiling. It is difficult to make use of the character's full potential. As there is no matchmaking, I have seen new players incredibly overwhelmed and frustrated as they didn't feel like they were in control of their character. Especially in og dg if you were a new hunter, you would be stunlocked, literally. The balance was really bad, think unlimited NPI bad with next to no cooldowns (thank you NPI share). Safe to say we all know why the game died the first time.
However, devs really went out of their way to fix their game with the reboot: BLOODHARVEST. The release of BLOODHARVEST is still the best patch I've seen to date. But then it just slowly crumbled down again. New characters put the balance in whack (Dash, Granny) and they somehow made Inquisitor worse every patch (which I still have no idea why?). If it weren't for those three character's messing the entire game up, the game would have been in a good place.
New player retention was still as bad as it has always been though, for pretty much the same reasons. It got tiring seeing lobbies where difference in playtime between players were over 500 hours. Guilt essentially made me never play with friends as that would make it even more unbalanced. The reason we never got matchmaking is because we didn't have the playerbase. Kinda sucked because we lost players because of that too. Touché.
There are many other reasons why the game didn't do well but in my experience I was never bored. I had plenty of things to grind for, like prestige. I wouldn't have minded just playing to git gud. The game is very playable if you start hosting private matches instead, which I had been doing instead of playing the public games towards the end.
I am sad to see the game go as it had the best potential I've ever seen. Then again maybe the game wasn't for everyone, it was probably just for me.

As a big fan of DBD I can definitely recommend from my time played. Many people just assume that it is just dbd with a slight coat of paint and in ways it is but there are many major differences. For starters, chases are practically non existent, YOU MUST USE STEALTH, killers are intentionally overpowered to easily down and kill survivors. Killers are supposed to be OP in games so when DBD comes along with looping, killers become the weak. This game actually portrays killers as they should be and many survivors from dbd think that they should be able to just run around the killer forever. The killer can easily kill you in seconds if they follow you, there are many bushes around the map however which can almost completely cover you making stealth required. The progression system is very limited with pretty much the same system as dbd's except survivors can now have abilities, you can upgrade abilities, and you can only run two perks at a time. The game has a fast paced almost parkour like mobility system and it can be really fun to run around just climbing walls and jumping on stuff. I see many people complaining about dying really quickly with the new update and that is like the point. You join a match, get some blood, then escape or die in less than 5 or 6 minutes where DBD's matches can last up to 15 minutes and be pure hell. With the game's limited progression system and linearity I can easily see someone getting bored of this game very quickly so here's hoping that they add in some more gamemodes unlike another game I wont say.

So lets talk about these negative reviews. games been out for less than 24 hours and you have every other crybaby review going on about balance. As if complete noobs, first day in the game, could have an expert opinion on the games balance.
Others compare the game to the original DeathGarden and complain about how too much was changed...the game that flopped on launch. Yeah, of course the changed as much as they could....so people would play it this time.
So what is the state of the game?
Balance is actually pretty solid, however the Hunter has a steeper learning curve. But with that learning curve comes depth, the Hunter has to employ strong long term strategy on top of strong short term plays. Scavenger and Hunter are both extremely fun to play, and both sides are very capable of making plays. Gameplay is very fast pace with players ALWAYS striving to do something.
Frustrating and boring game mechanics like hooks have all been removed. Match making is so fast that if you die early you are in another game almost instantly. if you are with a group and cant leave, you can spectate. Unlike other games, the spectate option is quite entertaining as DeathGarden is legit just fun to watch.
The relaunch IMO has been well executed and is a smashing success.
