ALWAYS test games with a new save file first to ensure the game handles pausing without issues. Alternatively backup your save files beforehand to avoid any risk of save file corruption.

The MOST USEFUL software for games that don't have a pause during cutscenes, which, if you ask me, is a must, but not all studios impliment it. Playing Baldur's Gate 3 with this, works perfectly.

I was getting very frustrated by some games I have that are singleplayer, but for some reason do not pause. In this specific case it was Lies of P. I'm working on a challenge run, and it would be really nice to pause.

Works with Nightreign, might need extra steps when you can't unpause though.
When the game becomes 'not responding' you might be able to open Resource Monitor and resume the Nightreign process.
It works if you don't pause it for too long, after leaving it paused for around 4-5 minutes when you unpause the game will crash.
