Blair Witch

Game was good, but not as scary as we (my daughter and I) thought it would be. The "monsters" were easy to get away from, no real risk factor. The ending was lacking, and not really a surprise. But, it was fun and took a while to play, which is good, didn't finish it in one day. We give it a 7 out of 10.

Slowly, you begin to uncover the traumas that haunt the main character, and as the story progresses, their contours materialize and distort her perception. The only constant you can safely lean on is your faithful companion, whose presence keeps you grounded in the reality of the world around you.
The game has a stunning graphics, a breathtaking atmosphere and an ambiance that undercuts the emotions the game can evoke in you at times: anxiety, despair, confusion....At last you will find yourself teetering on the edge between reality and fantasy, the line of which is gradually fading, and the further you go, the harder it is to discern which plane you are currently on.

Bullet is best boy. Deserves all the pets and treats. 10/10 You CAN pet him!!

Phew, just beat the game after about 9 hours. That was like a bad Acid trip near the end of it lol. I personally really enjoyed this game, especially as a horror game lover.
I think they did a really good job, loved Bullet! That house was terrifying lol. I honestly wish the game was more scary, there was only a few good jump scares.
The forest was BEAUTIFUL as well.

Pet the Damn Dog
This game unfortunately has little in common with the 1999 classic found-footage horror of the same name, but throws in a nice callback every now and then so it can't hurt to brush up on your Blair Witch knowledge before playing (who was Rustin Parr again?). You're playing as Ellis Lynch, the most traumatized person on planet earth, and it's only gonna get worse. Spoilers ahead.
So, not only does this guy cause the death of 6 comrades during the Gulf War and kills an unarmed civilian woman, he then goes back to his civil life as a cop and immediately proceeds to shoot an unarmed teenager. With PTSD out the ass, he decides to go into the woods and live out his remaining days as a hermit, where he can surely do no more harm to anyone. Unfortunately, these woods are the Black Hills Forest aka. the place where the so-called Blair Witch has driven people to murderous insanity for centuries. So instead of hugging trees and eating berries he now, having become 'Carver', continues to kill 'trespassers' by the dozen, ultimately killing the 9 year old brother of the aforementioned teenager he shot dead during his time as a cop. Talk about a redemption arc...
Sounds pretty ridiculous but also straight forward enough? Well, it ain't that easy. The entire story is woven into a tapestry of confusing time loops and unless you read all the documents, experienced all the different endings and watched a youtube video or two you usually wouldn't know all this. The real horror was piecing all of this together. Frankly, forget about the story, not even the devs themselves understand it.
As for the gameplay, it's mostly a walking sim intertwined with some light puzzling and very occasional stealth and/or fighting parts. Most of the time you're just stumbling through the - admittedly - very well done and eerie woods with your faithful furry companion 'Bullet', a would-be service dog that didn't make the cut (but is still a good boy). The dog mechanics are cool and all, but with Bullet by your side at nearly all times, even the scarier parts of the game do not feel particularly scary.
I don't even know what to say about the last hour or so, it feels insanely drawn out. We get it, we're in some sort of loop. Please just let me finish the game. Please.

After spending 120+ hours fully completing Blair Witch, unlocking all achievements, and watching every ending, I can confidently say this is one of the most immersive psychological horror experiences ever. The atmosphere is tense, with eerie visuals and a constant sense of dread that never fades. The sound design and dynamic lighting make the forest feel alive, and Bullet, your canine companion, adds an emotional layer rarely seen in horror games. While pacing can be slow at times, the game excels at psychological storytelling, making every moment unsettling yet gripping. A must-play for horror fans.
