Such an amazing game!!! Just as good as it was the first time I played it 25 years ago.... If you haven't played FFX then you truly are missing out on one of the most legendary games..

What can I say? Its been 25 years now...
This is a once in a lifetime experience, I know it was for me.
My father bought me this game prior to buying the console itself, he wanted me and my brother to have a little stash of games prior to sending the PS2 itself, so it sat there for a couple of months. I would mesmerize in the manual and cover arts, longing to finally play this, to see how amazing the new graphics were, and so the day came.
As soon as I started the game and the intro scene was over, I had control of Tidus. That was far too much information for my 7 year-old brain to process at the time, so I got really, really scared of what Tidus looked like, for some reason I thought he was a monster, wearing all those weird clothes. Mind you the year was 2001, internet was at its infancy, and I am from a small town in South America, so this kind of Japanese fashion was alien to me at the time, and the world was so very different back then.
I was so scared that it took me like a month to try and play it again, and when I did, it imediatelly clicked. Of course I did not understand english at the time, I was just happy to control something in this beautiful 3D environment, so I kept on.
I remember that I hadn't the slightest clue of how combat worked, I would just keep selecting options until it did something, so I never got past the first boss for a long time, but I kept on just playing the game and the introductory sequence. it was amazing. Nowadays I have 96% of the game's script memorized word by word but at that time, I had memorized all of the intro sequence.
I remember I lived with two aunts of mine that were taking English classes, and I would always be pestering them to translate some of it for me, but one day they just got fed up and gave me an English dictionary, that was life-changing. Since I had the words memorized I would just look for them in the dictionary, as I already knew how they were written because of the subtitles, additionally, I would know how they were pronounced because the characters did so, that's why I have no regional accent today.
Sometime later I got really mad at something in the game, I think it might have been a boss or something I read on forum that made me jealous that I wasn't the best in the world (Jecht's favorite), or maybe the cd case was giving up the ghost. So I tore down the CD cover and broke the Bonus disc that came with the PAL version, a mistake which I regret so much to this day.
It has changed my life in ways that nothing else could, because I became so proficient with English I was able to find job opportunities overseas, with that skill in my portfolio and fast forward to today, I still reap the benefits that my dad gave me, 25 years ago when he bought that game for me.
Guess what always came with me on my travels? That's right... My Final Fantasy X original PS2 copy that I am looking at right now while I write this... This is how much it is dear to me.
There are so many moments in my life that this game was a part of, moments that I will carry through eternity, I could spend a whole day just telling stories that involved it in my day-to-day life, they are inumerable.
I am completely in love with everything this game is and represents, it is a truly Human experience that will make you laugh and cry. I know I did cry again when I saw my kid repeating the same steps I did.
Thank you Square Soft for changing my life for the best, and creating the greatest game of all time.

I always find my self replaying this game. For me, this is the best Game in the Series. The world of Final Fantasy X is very Beautiful and the plot is Amazing. It has some of the most memorable Characters for me in the whole series. Auron being one of my favourites. This game is one of my favourites for a good reason. Overall i would HIGHLY recommend this game to anyone interested in trying it. (especially if this would be your first experience with the Final Fantasy series).

Sometimes the game does crash and the cutscenes can be shown as a green screen like it did for me. The 4GB mod patch fixes this issue.

After beating this game, after playing for over 30 hours, after beating the main story and witnessing the ending. Final Fantasy X has become one of my favourite games to look back and say "That was a special game"
From the characters, the story, the music, even the combat were all engaging and masterfully done that I could not keep my hands away from the controller, let alone from the PC. From the first second to the last, I was completely immersed in the world of Spira. I fell in love with the characters, Tidus and Yuna are among one of my favourite Final Fantasy Protagonists but I can honestly say, they are up their with my favourite characters in video games and entertainment. Trust me, the developers and staff behind the characters did an amazing job in establishing Tidus as this complete stranger in a distant world and Yuna trying to find venture on her expedition but also learning how to become a leader.
The story of Final Fantasy X is an example of less is more. For further context, they leave little information throughout the story that it keeps you guessing what could they mean in the overarching story of the game, until it completely hits you and the next minute, you feel overwhelmed in a swarm of emotions because of the masterful craftsman that was done to keep someone engaged in the entire playthrough. Now that is truly inspiring to see in a video game.
Lastly, the music by Nobuo Uematsu and Masashi Hamauzu is incredible to listen while playing and when I'm not. My personal favourites are the 'Ending Theme' and 'Tidus' Theme', but with context, these music tracks give me a roller coaster of emotions that in a way is how the game makes me feel those same emotions.
I highly recommend this game to anybody who wants a rich story, characters with depth to their personality and actions, amazing music, and want to be immersed in fantastical world that, for me, was never witnessed and it was such an experience to play.
Final Fantasy X just reminds me why I love video games so much. I wished the game never ended but that's what makes it so special.
Also... The laughing scene is indeed iconic for many reasons, it's cringe, it's meaningful, it's heartwrenching, and importantly, it's funny.

The game is awesome, the negative reviews are because of windows 11 being crap and nvidia being crap also.
There is a Mod Pack called Project X which fixes most of the issues.

10/10 – THE ETERNAL GOAT.

I have ascended to a higher plane of Spira-existence.
To those who call themselves fans: I have conquered this masterpiece on PS2, PS3, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, and now on the Steamdeck.
I don’t just own the game; I own every version of Yuna’s journey known to man.

Why this is the greatest achievement in human history:
Final Fantasy X is not just a "game." It is a spiritual experience.
It has the best turn-based combat system ever devised, a "skill tree" that puts every modern RPG to shame, and a story that will let you say "wtf is a penance?"
The Laugh:
If you think the "HA HA HA HA!" scene is bad voice acting, you clearly don't understand the depth of Tidus’s soul. It is the peak of cinematic expression.
I do the laugh every morning in the mirror to start my day.

The Trauma:
I have dodged 200 lightning bolts in the Thunder Plains.
I have finished the Chocobo Catcher race with 0.0 seconds.
I have seen things you people wouldn't believe.
My PTBS is triggered by balloons and birds.
The Verdict:
It was the best game on the PS2, it’s the best game on the Steam Deck, and it remains the best game ever made. It’s a masterpiece of music, world-building, and emotional damage.
SQUARE ENIX, LISTEN TO MY STORY:
We don't just want a port.
We don't just want a remaster.
GIVE US THE SAME LIKE FOR FF7!
I want to see the Farplane in Unreal Engine 5.
I want to see Anima’s Overdrive in 4K ray-tracing.
Rating: 11/10 teleport sphere (I have 99 of them and I’m still too scared to use one).

FFX is a beautiful game. I finished it at least three times on PS2, and I still bought it again on Steam. Yes, it makes no sense. I could have done so much more with my time. Why bother playing it again when YouTube exists, when I could just watch a playthrough, when there are a thousand other games I haven't touched?

I don't know. Maybe I'm dumb. Maybe I'm not being efficient.

But such is life. Sometimes you do stupid things for the things you love.
