Shadow Blade is an action-platformer set in a visually striking world where the ancient teachings of ninjas and samurai clash upon a modern landscape. Sprint through stages littered with traps, slaying enemies along your path without hesitation as Kuro, the blade of shadow! Darkness and chaos are once again creeping into the world of man. The covenant made in a time almost forgotten has failed, the three clans now in a violent struggle for dominance. The medallion is almost made whole again and it falls upon Kuro?s shoulders to restore balance. All his training has led up to this one moment, where the fate of the world will rest in his blood-stained hands.

Fluid animations, responsive controls, decently challenging, good level design, stylish graphics that combine cyberpunk with ninja themes, and comicbook-inspired cutscenes that add to the atmosphere.
Overall, it's a good, fast-paced action-platformer.

This game was a fun and short experience with a nice gameplay and beautiful art in it cutscenes which it was like a comic and I must say that was very funny and pretty. although this game has some issues in animations and gameplay but they dont damage your experience cause they are not very much and you can ignore them easily.

The gameplay is very enjoyable from my experience, but I wish I could play more, it is a little bit too short.
Plus, the story is greater than I expected.

Fast paced and performs well.
The game works perfectly fine on Windows 11 23H2 if you install the right codecs. It has a dependency to LAVFilters to play videos. If you are getting a codec related error/warning and can't see videos in the game, you will need to install LAVFilters. If you don't, apparently it also causes some issue on the last boss fight to prevent progression.
The game includes LAVFilters-0.62.exe on its install folder but this is now 10 years old. Don't install these.
Go to
LAVFilters-0.79.2-Installer.exe). Install these and you should be able to see the videos.

Bought this game way back in 2016, didn't really play it but for a short while. Thereafter it has been sitting in my library for the last 9 years. Started playing it again and realize that it is a really neat ninja game. Controls are tight and game play is quite decent. Now with summer sale and a 85% discount. If you are a fan of ninja games and 2D platformer games. Give it a shot.
