“Amends” is an interactive VR experience about the chaotic emotions of a past connected to a relationship with a now estranged mother. You will through the perspective of a child revisit the memories of your upbringing and through time get to relive the complicated emotional relationship, which still awaits its resolution.

Experienced on the Oculus Rift. Spoiler-Free Review.
This is an approximately 10 minute long, mostly cinematic experience, with a few interactions. It's running on the Unity Engine. Even though the interactions are simple, they actually work well in this experience. If you follow my reviews, you know I usually complain about simple / basic interactions as detracting from the experience. In this case, it's well-integrated and thought out. It actually adds to the experience.
The visuals remind of stylized 1980 cartoons. Not the best graphics, but as an artistic aesthetic it works well within the piece. Although these are cartoon / comic-book type graphics, the subject matter is pretty serious. I would not recommend this for kids.
I enjoyed the experience. I really felt like I was in this world. I felt the emotion and saw the perspective from both the main characters. It was a bit short though. I wanted to see more details of their life. The only real criticism I have for this experience is that it ends with a white screen and you have to manually quit.
I recommend standing during the experience to look all around. You do have to figure out how to progress the story with the interactions available. There is no locomotion.
Rate 7/10. Congratulations & thank you to the 12 students involved in this project. You guys did great!

Animation style was cool, but very short, maybe too short to get across the emotions that they want you to have. Still worth trying at a price of 0.

It's a nice little experience. I really enjoyed the visuals but the story unfortunately didn't resonate with me personally. I would still recommend it though.

Holy mother of god this was emotional! The art is really great and the voice acting was amazing as well. Y'all did a really good job at tugging at the heart strings. :D

Amends VR is a free VR experience. It worked on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. It says it requires 3m x 3m play space but does not really need all of it. Quick Sad story.
CONS: Does not work with Index controllers.
Try it, for a quick sad story.

Almost great, ending is way too sudden and out of nowhere, just as it gets good it ends...

Short slightly interactive VR experience. I liked it, but it's not for everyone: it's very artsy with lots of visual metaphors and very little plot.
Doesn't really require 3m on 3m playspace.
