Die Young
Die Young is an open world, dynamic action adventure presented in first-person perspective. You awaken, on a picturesque 12 sq km island in the Mediterranean, buried alive and left for dead. Starving and dehydrated, your struggle to stay alive has just begun. Jump, climb, take advantage of your athletic and parkour skills to overcome the dangers and wildness of nature! Stay Alive. This is not a "classic" survival game. If you aim to spend many days and nights looking for resources or build a shelter or a fortress, this will not be possible here. Your main goal is to stay alive. Your only purpose is to escape. As soon as possible. Stay hydrated in the hot Mediterranean summer, looking for a way to leave. Equip and Fight. Stripped of everything of value down to the shoes on your feet, you have to make a run for it. You have no chance of escaping relying on your wits alone. Search for items and combat equipment that can help you survive the nightmare.

This is the Mirror's Edge open world we never got with a bit darker tone.
The exploration and climbing and parkouring is fun enough as you explore the Island.
I recommend this game for anyone who likes the mentioned mechanics above. It features quests that are just enough to not feel dragged out. No tedius grinding.
Don't go in expecting a $49 AAA game, but not a $1,99 either. It's a solid game that will keep you entertained for a while.

I hold a lot of nostalgia for this game since I first played it back in 2020, when I had much more time to analyze and think harder on games (since I really couldn't do much else). I really quite like the game but I can understand the negative reviews. The graphics are a bit poor at times, specifically some of the texturing on ceilings and small details, but that doesn't really matter to me since the world feels alive. It's fairly small and contained when compared to other, bigger-budget open worlds, but it has more of a quality over quantity feel to it. The sense of progression (story and game-play wise) in the first hour is amazing. The notes actually matter to the story / side-stories and the environmental storytelling in some areas is good. The notes aren't overly long either. The free-running feels great, and this goes for the general movement as well. The animations and sound design for your movement and hits can be underwhelming though. While on the topic of sound design, the world noises and ambience is good, but the sounds that come from an animal you just killed can border on screechy at times and it doesn't help that one of the dying sounds for the goats sounds like it was being recorded in a tin can. I'll probably add more notes to this review later since I just started a new playthrough yesterday.

Interesting story (at leats at the start), and a vast map to explore. We play as a pretty vulnerable protagonist, which is kinda cool. Graphcis are okay. Not bad, but not outstanding either. Yet the optimization is a bit off (i have rtx 3060 and i expected the frame rate to be better than that i get). Also the game gives you absolutely zero clues of what to do next. You have a bunch of locations, and go on - explore them. Missed something in that location? Game wont tell you. Im not sure if that is something i like.

Survival + Parkour + Combat + Story = Could only be combined in a game this beautifully :)
Definitely worth playing!

The junked up prisoners, have some pretty random but hilarious voicelines. Parkour was nice, "Brother 1" who speaks to you over the walkie talkie really sounds like one of those conspiracy fanatics.

I love the open world aspect of this game. It's nothing I haven't played before but I don't get bored of the different flavors of the genre. I had hoped for a more meaningful story line but I guess the positives outweigh the negatives. Would def recommend to someone who loves these types of games.

This is one of those games if had for a while in my library and man i'd say i was pleasently surprised. This is a real hidden gem 10/10. I will definetly play the prologue as well.
