Battle your enemies in top-down, tactical physics-based action combat and overcome thrilling duels at the tip of your sword.

I managed to make it as far as prologue would allow after about 6 hours of game play. I enjoyed it. It does take some skill, and I am sure there are certain play styles that work better than others.
The game art and storytelling are interesting and will take more playtime in the beginning compared to combat. As you figure out all the story lines, you can move through the menu quickly to get to your desired result.
You start with a Paladin ship class which I liked the best. After unlocking the Manticore, I found it very squishy, shorter reaching, but much more maneuverable. You make decisions on what to upgrade, buy, sell, and equip on your ship, and the limited quantity of resources available make the right choice critically important. Choose wisely. Each battle you win gives you access to more resources, but the more fights – the more damage you take, and as you win battles, the threat level increases spawning more enemies – and each battle is more opportunity for more damage to armor that is not easy to replace. It can be more beneficial to head straight for the boss fight minimizing the number of battles instead of visiting all the other points on the map and fighting every battle for loot.
Pros:
Challenging, Skill based combat.
AI is actually very good. Even ranged ships shoot where you are moving to, not your current location.
Original Art and compelling Storytelling.
Fun enough to capture my attention.
Mini Maps are randomly generated so each play through is slightly different.
Each play through earns coins for permanent upgrades, so even as you fail, you are building towards something.
Cons:
Only a few variations in storyline.
Random map generation can leave you stranded. *
3 types of combat maps, not much variation.
Armor Plates not totally replenished after completing a boss fight and are too difficult to replace.
Vendors don’t replace some items you purchase so limited amounts of sunblast.
Beacon-o-mat permanent upgrade sometimes broken - filled space in inventory but not usable – at least you can still sell it to vendors (this appears to be fixed last time I played).
Screen is zoomed in a bit too close for my taste - hard to see enemies until they are very close (no option to change).
Ship moves on screen away from center based upon direction of travel – sometimes good, but sometimes you want to see where you are going as you retreat from enemies (prefer option to keep ship centered always).
*It takes some thought using your resources, making the beacon-o-mat very important. During my play throughs, I was stranded 3 times. Twice, my fault for bad choices. Once, after 5 jumps, no loot, no vendors, no more sunblast. Start over again.
Final thoughts: As a fan of the ancient game Gravatar, I found this to be a compelling game. I will certainly purchase the full game depending upon price point.

It was ok. I do recommend the free prologue so you can see for yourself if you'll like it.
I wasn't a fan of limited fuel and a teleport beacon that refused to deploy but the gameplay was solid and I didn't ahve any bugs. TBH though, I'm not really interested in playing more of the prologue.

Combat is really fun as I eventually got used to the controls and the physics (28 hours on the previous demo and I still can improve my flying skills & combat styles). Just looking forward to the EA release so I can fight with more types of enemies :)

Good gameplay reminding of Hammerfight. I finished the first Realm (star map) out of 3 so far
○RPG, invest into your ship to increase it's power or functionality!
○Good multi purpose resource economy^, spend wisely! (or don't!)
○ Fun Weapons that are more than just stats, find your favorite!
○Combat made up of 3 different attack types (Quick, charged, perfectly timed) for each weapon type (ranged&melee)
○Simple and fun gameplay, no complicated easy to forget bs systems.
○ I expected a Demo but this has content
○It works, lol. Hats off!

i did not play it enough to get a full experience but overall from what i've seen is.
You do very well in the art department a solid 9.5/10 (Its really good blinding in some parts but good)
you do very well in controls 8/10 (i understand its how its supposed to be but i personally like more precise controls for difficult games)
You do very well in Ui. Its very readable 8.5/10
What i don't like but you don't really have to take it to heart.
I think you don't need a mini map. its kind of unnecessary due to you having a big enough map. You should just be able to scroll around in it and be able to teleport to the location. its different for different games. for this one i think no mini map is necessary (i might be wrong for later parts of the game though)
Can you change the settings menu? change the buttons to sliders

Highly recommend this game, feel its my one of my all time favorites. I had about 15 hours in the demo before it was changed to this free prologue version.
This game is like astroids with melee & range customizable equipment combos resulting in a lot of very tense but strategic top down space ship jousting and dodging gameplay. Feels really rewarding to survive vs multiple targets of both melee/range so combat feels rewarding. Then the classic FTL/Slay the spire travel nodes, randomized events make every playthrough possibly diff, so much potential, such a fresh breath of unique gameplay.
Cant wait for full release, hoping they will have endless horde modes or wave defense cuz combat is thrillin!

Great game, Combat is very smooth and it'd be dope to see a multiplayer pvp game type in the future, the combat is just that good and satisfying. Really looking forward to the full release!
