This is a single-player adventure game that tells the story of a ghost. This game takes place in Eternity, a place that exists outside of space where all souls eventually end up.
The story follows Hauntii, a meek but curious ghost that has just arrived in Eternity not really knowing much of anything. Eternity is a place quite different from Earth. No ghost can really die, however they can be led astray a number of ways, and even corrupted into hellish fiends.
There is a mysterious race of glowing creatures, known as Eternians, who guide lost souls to an ominous central tower, where they appear to ascend to a higher plane. Eternians appear much like angels, but nobody truly knows who they are or where they come from.
- Relax – Hauntii has many faster, high energy moments, but that’s not all there is to it. This game invites you to ease into a more relaxed, contemplative mood as you explore the other-worldly landscapes in Eternity.
- Explore – Level design is kept tight but open-ended. Explore the rich stages in Hauntii, taking your own path, knowing there will always be something around the corner for you to find. The stage design philosophy is to go smaller rather than bigger. With smaller stages, every aspect can be carefully crafted.
- Haunt – A key mechanic in Hauntii is, well, haunting. As a ghost, you can haunt statues, creatures, lamps, and a myriad of other things. We don’t limit you to how you can solve the challenges ahead, and with haunting there are endless ways to approach them.
- Collect – To make progress, you must build the Constellations that contain the story of Hauntii’s past life. Constellations are built from Constellation Bits, which can be found by exploring, solving challenges, or trading with other ghosts.

TLDR: Hauntii is an indie title very worth playing with a high level of artistry.
The gameplay uses twin stick mechanics but it is a more slow paced, methodical game so don't go into it expecting bullet-hell high speed madness. Instead, think Mario Odyssey: you haunt objects to unlock abilities to defeat enemies or solve puzzles that reward you with stars. The stars are used to progress the story through showing your memories of your past life - as well as giving you options to upgrade health, "stamina" (dashes), or "ammo" (essence).
The visuals - hand line-drawings and animation - are incredible.
The soundtrack is the absolute standout here. Get the OST - it really stands well on its own, but it also brings you through all the emotional changes of pace within the game.
The story is told in a cryptic or impressionistic way. There is little direct exposition. The game does tell you what your current objective is but it is up to you to absorb everything the game shows you and piece together what it is trying to tell about the ghost's past life and the important lessons. There are occasional NPCs who establish the themes of the game through your interactions, and the rest is out there for you to experience. Take your time, explore everything, interact with every npc... just really drink it up.
Really impressive that this game came from such a small team. Every single one of them clearly sets a high standard for themselves with the art they create. The game can be beaten in under 10 hours - so you have the time necessary to enjoy it. No performance issues, runs great on the steam deck.

Beautiful adventure game where you gotta haunt various objects in the environment to solve puzzles.
Almost worth it for the visuals alone.

This game is awesome! The art style is amazing and I love the story. I really struggle with the idea of death and the fact that I will die one day. I love that this game gives me a cute, new way to think about the afterlife. I will say, this game is definitely challenging at times, but I enjoy that! I do wish it was easier to move around to the different locations. I'm someone who likes to double check that I haven't missed anything and it's time consuming to retrace my steps if I want to go back to an area.

Beautiful, relaxing game for those who like collectathons. Controls are best optimized for controller, but as someone without a controller it still works amazing. The art lured me in, the gameplay hooked me, and the soundtrack made me itch for more. When I reached the end of the first area, I excitedly said "THERE'S MORE?!" so... good game 10/10 gonna put so many more hours into this.

This is overall a fantastic cozy game! It definitely has not gotten the recognition/popularity it deserves!
The world's are all different, but the foundational elements of the game are grounded throughout so for the most part, you don't get too confused. I like the puzzles and the fighting aspects of the game. The story line feels slightly fragmented as of now, but I do like the concept! It is a very pretty game with unique art style as well.
The only thing I would say is that there are a couple glitches I've come across that make you have to go in and out of a world that can be frustrating, or some level design that makes things take longer to complete than necessary. But, all things to be expected for an Indie game. Overall, I would highly recommend this game especially if you like the atmosphere that Mario Galaxy and Zelda games bring!

I am loving this game already. I've been playing on the Steam Deck and it has been running great so far. The music and visuals are wonderful and pair really nicely with having areas to explore with lots of discoverables. The twin stick shooting feels satisfying and oddly relaxing at times.

This game could be the definition of the expression "hidden gem".
It is delightful in every possible way, the art is fantastic, the atmosphere, the music... I don't understand why this game didn't get more popular it deserve it.
Runs perfectly on the Deck.
Do yourself a treat and buy it if what you see in the store page seems to be your thing.
