dino cub is one of the few dino-based puzzlers around. you simply have to place various things on the levels so the rolling egg can safely collect all the stars and leave through the exit.
30 levels unlocked one by one, each provides a certain amount of money to spend on 3 available pieces. there's one that changes the egg's direction, the bridge covers gaps and the ramp lets you jump over spikes (let's ignore how landing might affect the egg). slopes and tiles with stars are off-limits for items, and dino fossils aren't just decoration, they prevent you from placing anything there as well, but the egg can roll over them. the arrow coming out of a ramp turns the destination tile inactive, so you have to place whatever you want there first and the ramp after. it shouldn't work like this.
simple mouse-based controls, left click to place something, right click to remove it, mouse wheel rotates pieces. no need for undo, but the level resets if the egg falls off or otherwise gets destroyed. a patch made sure that only the egg respawns in such cases, placed items don't get removed, so you can amend the mistake and try again instead of replacing everything. there's a reset button in the menu anyway.
no real need for camera controls, but esc immediately closing the whole game is annoying. and I also wouldn't mind if the 1-3 keys and/or tab switched between available pieces, even if full keyboard support doesn't get added. the top icon simply clears the cursor of the currently selected item, seems unnecessary, you could just right click while not over an active tile (but you can't).
the graphics are very basic and there's a black bar on the top and bottom of the screen in the menu, regardless of resolution. music is more forgettable ambience than anything and settings cover separate volume sliders, windowed mode and resolutions, all available while playing as well. there's a level select screen, only from the main menu, and level numbers are shown on the levels after a patch.
it's a short, simple and easy thing (nothing inherently wrong with any of that), okay to kill about an hour, but nothing amazing and you're better off waiting for a sale.

Short, super chill puzzle game, by no means rocket science, but pretty satisfying when you complete the later levels. Great game is you just wanna relax for a bit. Ya know, when you're looking through your steam library and nothing takes your fancy, this is the type of game you need as its very chilled and short
Can't really go wrong for the price too!
(yes, I did find this while undecided about what to play, found it in my discovery queue :D )

One of the funniest games I've played recently!! What I liked the most was the fact that the game is very casual, being a very simple and understandable gameplay, which is not stressful to the point of having to spend several minutes in a phase, but also not extremely easy to the point of reaching the level and passing it. I loved the game!

Relaxing and fun but far too short for what it is.
