The Last Bastion
Burdened with the responsibility of command after a catastrophic defeat, you are forced to flee through a country unraveling before the sword of a ruthless conqueror. Panicked and directionless, the people turn to you for help as you attempt to gather troops, resources and companions to mount a desperate defense.
With the enemy close on your heels, keep moving to stay alive while mustering your strength, as you make for the last bastion of resistance to stave off complete annihilation.
Decide where your loyalties lie and what you’re prepared to sacrifice in this journey to determine the fate of your nation and the legend you leave behind.
An Unrelenting Foe
Your fierce, fanatical foe is hellbent on complete domination. Relentless as the winds that sweep their harsh homeland, they mow down your nation’s defenses and destroy all in their path. Stay one step ahead of the enemy, whittle away at their forces and race to your Capital to keep it from falling into their hands.
Scarce Resources Empty stomachs and unhappy soldiers can be a recipe for desertions, or worse, mutiny. As your most valuable resource, avoid squandering their lives in costly battles. Manage dwindling resources as you build your camp to keep your troops fed and motivated.
Choice & Consequence
How will you conduct yourself in a world that’s falling apart? Every decision shifts your alignments, every action cements your character. Situations must be dealt with as they arise, and tough choices can have far-reaching consequences. With multiple fates awaiting your country, how you choose to play your story matters.
Unique Strategic Combat Diversify your army with different types of troops that come with their own strengths and weaknesses. Maximize their advantages with optimum formations and deploy them in strategic real-time combat with pause.
Recruitable CompanionsTo face insurmountable odds, you need extraordinary talent. Find Companions scattered across the country to help you in your cause. Each with their own backstory and agendas that need fulfilling, these steadfast, fair-weather or begrudging allies are necessary to lead your troops into battle and gain experience.
Randomized World with PermadeathNo playthrough is the same in this procedurally generated world. Every run comes with unique scenarios and death is absolute. With no second chances, it’s always better to live to fight another day than pick a battle you will lose.

Well dayum.
I really, really enjoy this game. I'll be diving back in once I finish this post.
It took 6 attempts to get to the Capital and the blasted council voted to surrender. Next time I make it there they WILL stand with me!
I do feel there could be some UI improvements - not being able to read the details of AP abilities outside of combat is one pet peeve. The mysterious way some Commanders gain an extra ability and yet others don't, is another.
But despite this I love it.
I love the rock, paper, scissors, Spock of combat, I love that the management of resources is not just about food and money; it's about "How many is too many troops?" it's about keeping all the factions happy because the good will each effects the events you encounter on the map.
Should I sacrifice this commander and their troops to buy enough time for another to win their own battle and win the fight?
Anyway enough chit chat, I've got a Last Bastion to save.

I don't write many reviews and I haven't finished even half the routes the game has to offer but seeing as this hardly has any I figured I'd drop one in.
It's very FTL like with a solid rock paper scissors combat and tight resource management, like FTL I hope the devs add more variety to the events and maybe come out with an expansion later for more content because the game has a solid base.
It's very much worth the asking price, my advice is to level of the supply depot first and staff it with civilians found on the way so you don't run out of food immediately, also let your commanders soak damage since their numbers recover which the other troops generally don't.

I didn't finish the game yet but I decided to write a review from my first hand experience within the game with 1hour gameplay.
As others reviews says, the game is Faster Than Light themed. You go around the map discovering new events and pray that you dont cross path with the ennemy's forces. I was astonished when I saw this few reviews. Does this game really deserve it's price ? Why isn't this game more played ?
Let's talk about it's price. It's currently 12.49€ which I find OK for the game. I assume that if the game was around 8.99€, it would be bought more often.
The history looks decent, your choices impacting the following events and affects your army.
The fight mechanic is basic : you put the army class you want versus the ennemy army class. When times are harsh, you will be forced to be at disadvantages which will force you to flee the battles in some cases.
There's ressource management. You have to wisely use your supplies and gold to improve your camp and to survive the trip. The ressources used in the camp will give you boost for morale, care for the sick/wounded, training slots, and other bonuses to help you in your journey.
The things that I felt powerless about are more RNG based and army based. In the second map I met most of the times armies that I couldn't fight and had to flee each times, eventhough I wasn't in the danger zone. i also met them too many times, despite once again the fact that I shouldnt have been in danger. It feels like a balance has to be done, from my point of view.
Despite this, I still plan on playing the game, and hope that more people plays it. This game with some updates can become a small jewel if a community backs it up.

Had a lot of fun playing this game. Great battle mechanics and storyline. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun game that does not require too much time commitment.

Survival mgmt + mechanics + addictive = Medieval Banner Saga with battle sim mechanics. Choose your path and make difficult choices. It will hurt one way or another. Gold and civilians are scarce.
