The Mooseman
Welcome to the mysterious world of ancient myth, based on finno-ugric culture of bygone pagan times. Long-long time ago the world was created out of an egg-shell by a god named Yen. In the murky depths of the endless ocean the Lower World was born. The Middle World was made for the men to dwell, and the Upper World was were the ancient gods would reside. Multitudes of spirits dwell among the layers of creation, guarding their secrets in the dark. Embark on a journey through all the worlds of ancient myth, find artefacts of Chud' tribes and solve all the mysteries of finno-ugric tales. You are the Mooseman and you have the ability to see all that is hidden to the mortal eye. You are about to visit three layers of this universe – the first one is the Lower World where the spirits of the dead reside.

A game about the mythology of the Komi people, who mostly live about twice the width of Finland to the East of Finland. I appreciated that they even included a bibliography in the credits.
One of the God's was a little broken, but fiddling with my graphics settings eventually got the River God's spotlight eyes to function properly.
I got the game during a sale, so I don't have any complaints about getting two hours of entertainment from spending around two dollars. The visuals and soundtrack are solid, and the simple game-play works for the story being told through it.

This game single handledly revived the long dormant obsession that once led me to study Finno-Ugric linguistics in uni. I did drop out and changed my life around a lot but the old love for these stories and languages is still very much there.
Beautiful art, music and story here. I love that the savepoints are often enough that I don't lose half an hour of process but also far enough apart for it to feel well paced. Spent half an hour battling with the river god in confusion until I realised his light had glitched and disappeared, restarted game and everything was suddenly possible again, lol. And the spider was so beautifully stylized that I, a big arachnophobe, didn't blink an eye.
Greetings from the distant Finno-Ugric cousin Estonia <3

The visuals are stunning and the soundtrack really hits at certain points. I like the soft storytelling throughout the game and the extra myths you learn as you traverse the world, they can interrupt the game play sometimes but that may be because I read them immediately as I got them. Both the puzzles aren't super complex but are engaging and fun to complete! I would definitely recommend this game if only for the vibes.

It's great game if you love myths and folklore, the game is quite simple 2D walking and solving easy puzzles, very nice music and ambientation and lovely artwork.

An enjoyable journey about Komi mythology with their language and pagan music. It has a very nice artstyle. Everything is made to resemble the setting the game is in. Chalk + pagan songs + the overall art and the parts with any voice (narrator reading the story) are in the native language.
A very pleasant experience, kind of like an interactive history lesson in a live museum.

It makes me depressed how little we know of the Komi-Permian indigenous religion
