The graphics is quite beautiful.
Very annoying were the constant and sudden changes of party members. I actually replayed one of the boss fights to transfer one particularly useful item to another person. This… and often blocked possibility of saving the game.
The english subtitles are as good as Google translator. I even found a few slang phrases. They are not timely optimized, I often could not read the text to the end. This made the story half-understandable. A bit of an exaggeration: I only understood that there were thousands of years of war, not a decade, not a century, thousands of years. Reason unknown: five spirits, nine springs, I don't know exactly. Don't worry, we Western people are the same. Maybe there were some periods of peace.
Advanced magic: levitation and force fields, but no fireballs.
The DLC is different from the main game. It is more like space puzzles and a conversational story than an RPG.
I have completed all the Steam achievements, I am still surprised by this.

I am amazed this game isnt getting more recognition. I have a really good library of games, including new ones like Black Myth Wukong, but this is the game that's really got my interest. This is a story heavy game with lots of cut scenes, but if you're into Chinese movies/tv fantasy then this will be an absolute must buy. The combat is really good, with multiple controllable characters, each who plays very differently. The graphics are beautiful and a high spec machine is recommended
I don't bother with many reviews but I feel this game is really deserving, its not the most original story but its keeping me hooked and I'll update this review once complete.
I would highly recommend this game if you like light RPGs with story, action and if you are a fan of fantasy.

Wonderful game. Beautiful graphics and great combat mechanics. It is very cutscene heavy, but it didn't take away from the enjoyment. This game has a special place in my heart.

27 hours of gameplay and a proper eye-candy!
Sword and Fairy 7 is a gorgeous game, whichever new area you unlock it feels like you've been teleported to ancient China, the villages, valleys, mountains, cities, demon realm all feel really authentic. The character designs are well thought of and the combat feels great. It's less about regular spamming the X button combat and more about how well you use the spirit abilities. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and its story-line which progresses in a linear and fun way, with some occasional twists and turns.
The best part is I got to experience Wuxia art and got to be a part of this celebrated Chinese culture. Worth the price!

Sword and Fairy 7: Together Forever is: beautiful, atmospheric, immersive, has a great soundtrack that you will never get tired of listening to, good characters, a good yet meaningful story, action, romance, platforming, puzzles, beautiful cut scenes, and more, a tragic and forbidden love story subplot but ultimately one which has a happy ending though it wasn't immediate and took great effort, sacrifice, and time and only if you buy and play the DLC story.
Note: if I could change anything about this game, it's the fact that for weapons, you will quickly out level them and not be able to use them for long before obtaining better weapons. The same applies to gear too, but gear uses currency / coins to buy. Also, you might waste resources forging or buying a weapon that you either out level or receive as a loot drop / from just playing the game. Perhaps out-leveling weapons could be partially resolved if I could equip other weapons as a skin for appearance sake but with the higher stats of the latest weapon. This way appearance wise, I could use the weapons that I like using the best. This is just a suggestion.
Note: If I could change one more thing, it would be to bundle the DLC with the main game (for new purchases) as a definitive edition as the DLC is essential to finishing the story of the main game which ends with a cliffhanger.

As much as there may be too many cutscenes, and the story may be a bit bland, I can’t help but love this game. I really loved the characters, but the world is straight up probably my favorite in any game. The art design is impeccable, and I could just look at the view in xianxia sect, mingshu sect, and heaven demon kingdom for hours. I played on steamdeck with high settings without many issues, and it’s just stunning. What really sets this game apart for me is the soundtrack. Absolutely incredible to listen to, and perfect to listen to both while playing and just when I’m studying. It’s so good that I would recommend buying with soundtrack if you like traditional music and listen to soundtracks on steam. I am so excited for sword and fairy 8, and if it can just polish some stuff up and make a world with art as compelling as this, I will be happy.
