Prank Masters is one of those games I wish I could write a neutral review. Playing this VN I experienced quite contradictory emotions.
What attracted me first was nice art, nothing breathtaking for me personally but cute enough to enjoy the story. Especially chibi images are so sweet! It became obvious immediately there's nothing deep here but it's a neatly done light otome visual novel. That was exactly what I needed! I sincerely intended to get some relaxing experience.
But you know what, quite soon I felt how annoying that main character is! Nothing new, unfortunately. I was constantly rolling my eyes reading at the beginning of the story how, for example, she was slacking on her way though her father was hurt and needed that ice, but no, she could stay and chat or even eat with her old friend. Or what about those kidnapping thoughts. Oh my god, really? Are you serious? Then what the heck was wrong with all those mockingly laughing students at the bus stop? Her 'best friend' blackmailing her into her project? Why is everyone a jerk? So, as for the plot I was constantly questioning it, though I have to admit I liked writing in general.
As you can get it from the title, MC is a prankster, an excellent one. And that was something I disliked so much, I even thought about dropping the game. This VN is tagged as comedy, excuse my lack of sense of humor but I didn't find her pranks funny. They seemed more like harassment & humiliation for me.
The feature I especially enjoyed about this game is 150,000 + words. I'm really into more or less long stories. That way it's easier to develop the story and the characters. And I can say I felt it here. I was so annoyed and sometimes even bored at the beginning but soon I realized there're some serious themes implied, e.g. bullying is mentioned and it can be one of the reasons explaining her pranking. Plus, her parents disapproving her behavior, some MC's inner struggle about this. Soon the story became more complicated, made me really rooted, it managed to grab my attention. And after acknowledging her deeper personality I could even relish her pranks in next routes, they became a tad amusing, making me smile often enough to like the game.
There're three love options with four endings each–two bad, one normal and one good. Bad endings sometimes happened completely unexpected and even a bit abrupt. As for good endings I never managed to reach them myself. It seems to be some weird, understandable only to the devs, logic in choices we have to make. But what I'm really grateful for, they released official walkthroughs on itch.io how to start each route and get all endings. That was really nice of them!
So, all in all, it was a nice light novel. Before playing it I checked devs' site and learnt that they're from Australia. I was overexcited to play OEVN (original English visual novel) to improve my English, as I'm not a native speaker. In general, it was quite educating, indeed. I learnt some new vocabulary, a lot of words were marked as Australian slang in the dictionary. I don't remember playing any other VN with Australian variant of English. But the quality of the language (if I may say so) turned out to be far from perfect. I'm still a bit shocked how it's even possible when writers are native speakers + they had two proofreaders according to their final credits. When I learned that, for example, 'sceptical' which I believed was a typo at first, is also a correct spelling I began to doubt that maybe those aren't mistakes at all. You know, Australian English, colloquial expressions, characters' individual way of speaking xD but just no, it can't be right. e.g. here and she's tutoring him English! There're just too many such examples :(
Oh, one more thing to complain about–there was one moment when I chose not to watch TV with parents but later MC's father commented as if we actually had done it together. Nothing important for the story but …
And finally the most irritating thing about this game. I'm still fuming! I really hate VNs with that useless achievement of 100% read text. This game doesn't have cards or achievements at all, which is a pity! But you need to read all the text to open extra CG in every route. That's a nice feature but...
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ I tried several times, wasted more than enough time but I still can't open CG for Romeo. So, please, someone, if you're more lucky than me, upload it. I'm really curious to see what I'm missing :( And I really don't get it! I would understand if we had to read all the text necessary to open all endings. Sure, why not but when it's like this. It's so useless, mere mockery!
And to sum it up, I think it's overpriced, 18$ is a bit too much considering all issues. So, I don't even know if I should recommend this game or not. Decide for yourself. They have a free demo, you may try it out!

It was good enough. I finished high school several years ago, so I had trouble relating to the characters, I imagine those still in high school will enjoy it even more. It was generally a "light" visual novel that was easy to read through. If you want to take a break from "heavier" plots and read something funny and not overly complicated, then you should give it a try. However, you might need a guide as some of the choices seem to be based on intuition and it's hard to figure out what you should choose.
The boys were definitely interesting. I especially liked Kadin and I think he had the best route. There are also some mystery elements to the story like about Juliet's amnesia and I think you need to play all the routes in order to fully understand some things.
Another thing I liked about the game is that Juliet feels like a real character. In a lot of otome games, the heroines are quite one-dimensional, but Juliet's personality felt quite unique and I found it easy to like her.
Overall, it was decent. Not the best thing ever, but it's worth it for people who enjoy similar games.

Hello Steam user who is wondering if this visual novel is worth their time. I'm going to tell you right now that the short answer is... Oh boy this one was tough. To be honest, I have no idea if I'm recommending this or not as I type these words. This is definitely one of those times I wish Steam allowed neutral reviews.
Pros
– the characters. Thankfully one of the most important elements of any visual novel (or really, any story driven narrative) is done decently well here. Our heroine, Juliet, is a riot. Both her dialogue and internal monologues made me laugh out loud more than one and she has a distinct, memorable personality which many player characters in this particular genre of games generally lack. She also grows as a character no matter which route you're playing(although it is especially evident in Kadin's route where she decides to give up pranking on her own accord instead of getting in trouble and being forced to quit like in the other routes). The love interests are great too with each having their own motivations and feelings. Romeo our animal loving honor student with a hidden troublemaking side, Richard the sweethearted bad boy wannabe who's lost in more ways than one and Kadin the lovable loyal bubbly friend with a few hidden secrets. Each guy was great in their own way and I couldn't help but love them when I was on their routes. No matter how sloppily told those routes were (but we'll get to that) I also even like the side characters who had their own personalities and feelings too.
– The humor. This game is really good at pulling the unexpected laughs. Especially with how creative some of the pranks ended up getting and just general the romcom tone of the whole thing. Even when you KNEW what was going to happen, someone or something unexpected would come around and make the moment feel fresh and original.
– The art. It's not groundbreaking or anything but it is pleasant to look at and even with several characters being related to each other and looking similar. Everyone had a distinct look even though two characters looked almost identical (again will get to that). The chibi art was the best.
– The menu. Very user-friendly so even if you're not visual novel savvy it's no trouble to get used to it.
Cons
– the story. The story in this game is absolute cluttered mess! Basically the premise is Juliet is constantly moving around with her parents who are big Shakespeare fans and writers and they just moved into a town that they use to live in an Juliet ends up running into three boys who all knew her at one point in her life and she also has amnesia and can't remember anything before the age of seven. Yeah, see how I tagged amnesia as kind of a side note; that's what the game does even though that's supposed to be the main underlying plot of the whole thing. The worst thing is onlyRomeo'sroute actually addresses the cause of the amnesia and the big reveal of the plot (which makes me think that it's the true route of the game) while the other routes barely even touch upon it.Now this somewhat justified in Kadin's route because he met her after she got the amnesia and already knew about it beforehand but this doesn't make any sense in Richard's route because he was THERE when this happened! He knew her too so the fact that they don't really mention it at all in his route makes zero sense from a narrative or logical perspective. Then there's also another girl that looks almost identical to Juliet also named Juliette. When you playRomeo's route to find out that she's actually named Rosa and that you knew her after you got sent to the hospital but it's never explained why she looks like you or why she has the same name just spelled differently and it's also not explained why Richard knew the name Rosa even though she never shows up in his route which is just beyond confusing. Also they never explain ifKat is really psychic or not or if she has multiple personalities and her other personality never shows up in her brother's route which I thought was really strange because you think that the other personality will show up the most in that route but nope.
– The presentation. Okay this is where the game really tanks. The way the game tells the story is in a series of vignettes which is not a bad way to do it. However, many times the scenes seem like they're caught off or just jump to the next thing without having a proper conclusion many times. Sometimes it seems very deliberate. Like they're trying to do a cliffhanger but other times just seem completely random and it's jarring as hell. There's also different variations that can happen in routes depending on what you choose so sometimes characters will mention things that you would've never seen happen because you chose the wrong choice.
– The endings. Again not in themselves are they bad but the normal endings almost felt better than the so-called good endings. I think that they should of done two good endings and two bad endings.
Neutral
– the music. It sets the tone and has a distinct charm but not much else. It's also pretty catchy.
Alright after all of that... I think I will recommend the game but only for the characters and definitely on a discount of at least 50%. The only reason I do this is because I thought the game has good characters and good humor even if it's story is all over the place and its editing is terrible. If you do want to try it they have a demo so if it's really not your thing then you should be fine.

(Ah yes, thank you Mr. R for getting me this game and allowing me to absorb even more knowledge).
I didn't like how the game started out. I thought everyone was a jerk, sadist and there were other, more mature ways to resolve things. BUT.......! I did see that it was in HS and everyone had their reasons... So I calmed down and started to look at it with a different perspective.
It helps if you do that. I believe younger people will really enjoy this... IF you are into these kinds of things.
I didn't care for the pranking. Even if MC had a valid reason for doing it... I still don't believe in going about a situation in this way... If I did that to the four bullies in HS? I would've gotten beaten up. Since I was untouched (mostly) you can clearly see that I found a different way out.
When the game isn't focused on pranking? It's sweet and adorable.
There is also this mystery about the MC's... Oh yeah. It's a mystery. Depending on which route you are on... The outcome changes slightly for her/characters/ending.
I wont tell you which routes to read first... Because I myself do whatever I want, but mystery wise...? I think Kadin should go first, then Richard, then Romeo.
But if I did that... I would've had a better time. Not because of the mystery, but because my preference of liking a guy was leaning more towards Richard... But only towards the end. Romeo too... Kadin... He currently feels like he is going to grow either into a "follow you around/ puppy love" kinda guy or a serial killer.
What else? Oh sceneries and designs were well liked too! I especially like the miniature benches and the fountain!
Everything else... Well it was entertaining enough. I can't say I miss HS, but I am glad to witness a different part of it and its other events that took place.
Thank yousss!!! :3 :>

Juliet: "Fine, what do you want?"
Richard: "I just wanted to get on your nerves."
Juliet: "You're a disgrace!"
Richard: "Mission success."

I reeeeeally wish neutral was an option here- Prank masters is a cute, lighthearted game but it just falls a little short for me.
i think, had i played this when i was younger, i might feel differently.
That aside, the art is cute (though the main characters bedroom hurts my eyes. that purple is kinda bright) and the characters are alright~ i liked them well enough, but was consistently a little annoyed with the main characters attitude, and how like. genuinely cruel some of her and the boys pranks can be.
while Juliet thankfully isn't a generic whiny weak main character, she comes off as needlessly mean at times, and doesn't seem to really have much growth.
Overall its a decent game that's just missing a little something, but still might be worth a try if you're newer to the VN genre!
also, unrelated note- i wish you could pursue a relationship with Kat. shes honestly the most interesting character imo lol

Adorable! The story, the characters are just so adorable! The MC (Main character, heroine) have a strong personaily unlike average otome VNs (with whiney MC).
I don't really like the kinda abrubt bad ends, but bad ends are suppose to be bad no? Anw the good ending is just so lovely!
Getting the special illustration is a pain, I wish text color change when read and unread, but doesn't matter much.
Also, I hate the fact that the screen is 4:3... WHY IS IT NOT IN 16:9 :')
but then the story and art and characters are so precious so all the negativity got overlayed by the positivity of cute art. The chibi are especially wonderful <3 I wasn't used to the art at first (as i play too much japanese otoges) but now when I look back at the CGs, THEY'RE JUST SO WONDERFUL AND ADORABLE~!
