Nuclear Blaze
The world is burning.
Well, not exactly, but the whole region is.
As a trained firefighter, you’re being air-dropped right in the middle of this hell blaze to investigate and look for survivors. But the unexpected presence of an unknown military facility might somewhat affect your plans.
- A unique 2D firefighting game with all the devastating backdrafts, exploding walls and sprinklers you could expect.
- Smooth "signature" controls and gameplay from the guy who was in charge on Dead Cells.
- An action/adventure game crafted with love and attention to details.
- Use your fire hose carefully to keep the blaze under control and progress through the facility.
- Dedicated "Kid mode" designed for very young kids (~3 years old and more), with specific level design, rules and gameplay… while still featuring firefighters, helicopters and trucks!
- Not a roguelite/like/vania this time!
- Unravel the true story of Site 16 and A-█████. Access to these informations may require authorization clearance ████ and ██.
Following the path of Celeste, Nuclear Blaze also offers some fine-tuning of difficulty by allowing players to adjust some rules to their needs. There’s no Easy or Hard mode, but you can consider the default settings as being quite difficult.
Making your gamer life easier is fine, it’s about having fun, so feel free to adjust your in-game settings.
Nuclear Blaze first started as a game jam entry for Ludum Dare. It was created in 48h and received lots of positive feedback and support from everyone 🙂
My first intention was to create a game my 3yrs old boy could play, as he is a big fan of firefighters. Obviously, the game became more and more complex and quickly turned out to be too difficult for him: I then decided to add a specific "Kid mode".
The Kid Mode is a special mode in the game, designed with young players in mind, featuring specific rules:
- Specific levels meant to be easy to explore,
- You can’t die,
- Water is infinite,
- Water is auto-aimed,
- Controls are simplified.
- Helicopters and trucks everywhere, because kids love them.

Really fun but very short. It took me 1 hour and 15 minutes to beat the game on the normal mode. There's an additional hard mode with some extra content and more challenging rooms but since one of the big mechanics is faster spreading fire (which I don't think is that fun any way) I wasn't interested in it. Definitely recommend on a sale.

Great game.
Unfortunately, it is very short. You can finish it in 3 hours.
You can go for New Game+ (Hold My Beer mode) which will be basically the same, but harder (for example, you will also need to avoid turrets).
The only flaw of this game is that without mouse aiming, it is more difficult than necessary (on Hold My Beer mode especially). Luckily, developer added lots of options to adjust difficulty settings.

A very impressive 2D platformer, that targets a fantasy not represented a lot in games. The controls are super polished, and there is a smart narrative twist that will keep you playing until the end.
Honestly, that's a banger.

I loved it. Graphics are great, gameplay is great, it's a nice twist on a platformer genre.
Only minor problem I had was everything resetting upon death even when I have a checkpoint, but its not that big of an issue.
It's wonderful to see GameJam prototypes come to full release! Especially when they are good.
Option to play original gamejam version is also very cool, and I really appreciate it from both gamedev and gamer perspective.
I'd love to see another major DLC Expansion or a sequel! <3
I recommend it, and would give it 8.5/10

While the game starts off a little slow and easy, I really like how it picks up at about the halfway mark. If you do decide to pick this game up and you enjoy your time with it, be sure to play the "Hold My Beer Mode" afterwards. It's harder and a cool remix to the story.

Tiny Blaze
For the price its a good enough game and it would have to be this price its 1-3 hours long depending on difficulty very very short. The graphics and sound are nice but the controls are pretty clunky though they have great difficulty settings to counter these issues for any type of person.
The game feels overall like a prototype for a bigger game and it there was such a thing I think they should pull away from the heavy prio the game puts on the puzzle elements. Make the game more like super mario sunshine where you get to enjoy firing water at stuff more than finding a route to a key. Also the wasps and reading the game has feel totally out of place Im not going to read anything in a game like this and I was hoping for way more intresting enemies because the setting feels very cool maybe aliens or human/animal hybrid monsters, bugs dont makes sense as they burn very easily.
Overall not great but not much wrong with it either so I do recommend it and hope they make a bigger game with what they have built here fire is always going to be a very intresting game concept.

Nice short game. Its unlockable mode made it funner and is a must.
