Not the greatest game ever. Far from it, infact. However, it works and is good for a few hours mindless, not particularly complicated, spaceship combat. (Pick it up when it's on sale, basically).
You must play it with a controller though! The keyboard keybindings are terrible!

I love how different this is from the original Star Raiders, while still retaining key aspects of the original gameplay. I enjoyed learning all the cool things you can do with your ship, and comparing what you can do now with what you could do in the original. I love all the new abilities and weapons and such! I don't mind that it's mission-based because all the missions are at different locations with different scenery, terrain, and things you have to get done. It adds some nice variety! I like that the cutscenes add a bit of depth to the story, and explain what's happening and why, and how it's connected to the original. I love that Solaris is included here too!
Not only is the gameplay good, but the graphics aren't bad either! The controls are pretty complicated if you don't have a controller, it definitely just takes time to get used to.
All this and the music is a 10 out of 10. I'd listen to it all the time if I could

RATING = F
BASICS: Graphics are just okay. ------ 5/10
Music and sound is awful ------ 1/10
Controls are just bad ------ 3/10
Story..what?! Zylons? ------ 0/10
Overall Gameplay terrible ------ 2/10
Price paid - ripped off ------ 1/10
Overall I was excited to see a decent space fighter/sim. But it was nothing of the sort.
Limited to small areas of combat in space (you bounce off of space itself if you go too far). Ship speed is imperceptible. You have no idea really how fast you're going, if you're catching up with your enemy, or where they really are. Designers tried to do something new with something that used to work well. Radar is useless as the enemy ships move too fast (yes you get a colored arrow indicating direction when off screen but!) No matter what *transformation* my ship was in they out maneuvre you.

This game is a super fun space shooter, the only proble I have is there is a bug that when you do the key bindings "changing the keys" they change for ever ship you use, frustrating

Not bad for what it is, most of the negative reviews are people that played the original, grab and emulator and play that one if you like it better or get Atari 50 and play the enhanced on there. This is just ok and you can't complain for the price.
