Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII
"The ultimate depiction of the Three Kingdom. A heroic drama of a gathering of Legends." Based on this concept for Romance of the Three Kingdoms 13, we have compiled an experience that will immerse the player deep into the historically turbulent world of the Three Kingdoms, with "human drama," seen through daily interactions both on the battlefield and off between the many heroic characters of the time (all playable), "spectacular battles" shown in majestic battle scenes, "dynamism" expressed across the great land of China in full 3D as each character plots and battles to expand their territory, and much more.
Players will become one of the heroes that lived during the time of the Three Kingdoms and through their actions and decisions will forge their own unique history in that turbulent yet period.

Playing as an original officer and collecting different officers like they're pokemons is what makes this game the best in the ROTK franchise

A great game that lets you control the life of a character in the three kingdoms world. If you do get, you 100% need the expansion DLC, it's a massive upgrade to the overall experience

It's a lot of fun. There's a lot of different ways you can play between officer, ruler, and the various prestige roles for when you aren't part of a kingdom. I especially like that you can basically have the story play out as you go about your business, getting to see how things unfold. With the PUK (Fame expansion), I highly recommend it. Without it, I'm less enthusiastic. You lose out on the free officer (playing without a lord to serve) play, as well as the prestige system that gives your character something to work towards. I'd say only get it without the PUK if you aren't sure if you'll like this type of game, to try it out first. Otherwise, get it with the expansion and enjoy. You'll get more than your money's worth in playtime.

The game isn’t just about conquering territory, it also focuses on building relationships with other characters. Making allies and forming bonds can be just as important as winning battles.
The world map looks detailed, and the character portraits are beautifully drawn. The soundtrack is also excellent, helping to create an epic atmosphere.

3 Conditions
-1). You are an ROTK series fan.
-2). You appreciate the rpg "officer style", version of Koei's ROTK series.
-3). You're not either of those, but you want to play a game that allows you to play as any officer, official, or famous person in the ROTK novel, in 2nd century China, to unite the land into one.
Or don't. You could also create your own officer, official, or play as an assassin, mercenary, bandit, or merchant (although milage will vary on what is considered "fun", but to each their own).
Now don't get me wrong, the complexity and "strategery" isn't as well scripted as other strategy games that do those way better, but it's serviceable.
Also, you can create you own events, scenarios, and edit anything to achieve "what if" scenarios of that era. The tool kit is there and is what makes this game shine a bit more different than the other ROTK games.
There is more to say about why it can be fun and engaging with "classes" and character's unique abilities. It adds extra layers to how you play the game each time (though you can change these "classes", some historical officers have a unique class dedicated to them).
AI isn't NA Rise to Power bad, but enough for me to tell you that is what specifically keeps it from being a great game, if you're a fan of the franchise and rpg officer style.
If you don't know about the game or 3K history, well, I would aim to get this on a good sale, if you are interested.
Edit: Forgot to say, ONLY WITH EXPANSION PUK.

A somewhat more advanced version of RoTK III, which I played on Sega Genesis. It has its flair. Of course, there's a 14 now. I found it again when strolling down memory lane, and it was basically like I expected. Also had Uncharted Waters from the same developer (KOEI), but that one didn't get remake versions.

ROTTK13 good strategy game. I remember playing the older version on PS1.
Do not get it wrong some thing could be better.
But non the less still still a good game to pass the time.
