Isn't it ironic how a "kids game" from 2018, not only has a better plot than Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League. But that it plays better in every single way as well?
10/10 Not the Squad game we deserve, but the Squad game we needed.

I've played a few Lego games to 100% already and this is by far the best one yet.
— Story: It has a very creative story, I enjoyed it a lot and it's veeeeeery entertaining and fun! I liked it way better than any other lego games. Plus, I think it's amazing that even though it has the traditional 15-level format, it also includes 5-extra levels that reminded me of the first lego Batman game, with the extra levels telling the "other side" of the story.
— Open world: It is absolutely the best open world I've experienced in lego games. I really liked Lego Batman 2, but this takes it to a whole new level, with nods, jokes, references and story-rich content for every single building. It does more to make it feel like a city: It makes it feel like multiple cities. There's a clear distinction of every single one of the districts, it's really wonderful tbh.
— free roam: I wasn't a fan of the flying mechanic (it got worse in comparisson to previous games), but given the size of the map, it was equally entertaining to travel by vehicle, flying or doing fast travel. There were not only gold brick puzzles, but also fun little "quiz" challenges that were very entertaining and creative, it took me a while to figure out all of them but it didn't feel like something boring to me.
— free play: I am not very into this aspect, because I ran into very specific zones that would require to trigger certain actions to go through even though it's something that could have been done by a free play character (i.e. flying). The 5-minikit per level it's definitely an improvement though.
— Fight: In this game there's a new mechanic of "grabbing" and executing certain finishers. Despite that being cool the first few times, I have to be honest and say that I missed the good old smashing the hit button, because it wasn't as satisfactory as it was before. Also, the heat rays weren't as useful for combat anymore (I homelander-ed everyone in previous games, this time it wasn't possible)
— Character roster: I love the fact that we're getting rid of the character variations (i find them annoying on free play), there are only a few of them so I'm glad it wasn't packed with that. Asides from that, there's a very large roster with a ton of amazing characters, I ended up switching a lot given the fact that I just loved every single one (unlike some other games where I usually stuck with the same 5 characters for free play). Another positive aspect is the filters by abilities, those were extremely useful and great to check every character out!
— Caracter customization: hands down the best customization in a lego game. I usually don't spend a lot of time on those because it ends up being somehow boring for me, but I had a blast while making my characters. It's EXTREMELY filled with different aspects to make your own creations. It allows you to choose every single piece and ability that your character has, it was a blast and definitely a highlight of this game.
— DLC content: Although some of the missions were short, I enjoyed playing them, specially the Young Justice one. The characters were also amazing and very cool (i'm looking at you, constantine and zatanna). I still won't ever forgive that they made a whole model for Nightwing and Batgirl in YJ style AND THEN THEY WEREN'T PLAYABLE CHARACTERS.
— Bugs: I ran into a TON of bugs in this game, way more than i've ever found in any other game. Sometimes switching tabs would reset my visual settings, volume 0 would still play some sounds (such as glass breaking or car sounds), a character switch not loading properly (once i got bald aquaman lol) or even more annoying and game breaking ones where I had to restart the whole level because it didn't load properly.
Overall, I'd say this is my favorite lego game by far. It improved in a lot of aspects, it had SEVERAL issues that were annoying but weren't enough to ruin my experience. I had a great time getting playing to the 100%.

TOP FUN THINGS TO DO:
⭐️ Playing pretty much every single DC character you can think of.
⭐️ Being evil never felt so good!
⭐️ Flying. running, driving, swimming. Every single type of travel is so fun.
THE UNIQUES:
💎 Being a villain but with a twist!
💎 Playing as a custom character, this is the first time WB have done this in the DC universe.
PLAYER GAMING REQUIREMENTS:
💼 LEGO.
💼 Action.
💼 Adventure.
PROS:
+ YOU are the main character in this story, this is the first time I've seen LEGO do anything that involves a custom character, sure, there's LEGO worlds but this is way different on that scale.
+ It's the largest open world LEGO game to date, which is crazy since you've got LEGO Marvels to compete with. On top of that, there's hundreds of gold bricks to collect along with many other collectables.
+ The customisation with your character is endless, with the option to go back and alter your characters abilities, there's so much to do purely on just your character.
+ I can't pass up the opportunity to give credit to the voice actors, the likes of Joker and Harley Quinn (Played by Tara Strong, massive fan of her work) are spot on! Top, top talents with the voice actors and it shows in this game.
+ For a LEGO game, the graphics are pretty impressive, nothing is re-skinned, everything looks polished and very enjoyable to explore the DC universe.
CONS:
- The game is intended for controller, if you're a keyboard and mouse user, you'll have a hard time with the controls.
- Still no online multiplayer, it would be nice to buddy up with another player without needing to have them sitting by your side, come on LEGO it's the 21st sensory!
- A little dig here, but there's so many DC characters on here that I didn't even know existed, the only reason why I threw this in the negative section is because there's no real reason to have this many characters since you'll most likely have a character that already does their job. Again, this isn't a huge issue but I thought I'd address it.
VERDICT:
It's another LEGO DC game guys! And DC Super-Villains really hit this one of the park! I've had a hot and cold experience with LEGO DC games but I thoroughly enjoyed this one, the world is very enjoyable to explore and I felt the urge to collect all the gold bricks, where as the previous LEGO games, I had no real strive to do that.
I had a few hiccups with crashes but nothing serious enough for this to lose any points, in fact, the only real complaint I had was there's no way to play online, no idea why LEGO games can't branch out with this.
With all that said, I would like to announce this game as the best LEGO game in the market, iT surpasses all the other LEGO games, I've played out there and it'll probably be up there for many more years, keep up the good work TT.
Total Score = 91/100.
GAMEPLAY:
The fourth instalment in the Lego Batman series of games, it is a spin-off that focuses entirely on villains of the DC Universe; it is the first in the series to do so since the villain levels from Lego Batman: The Videogame.
While the core gameplay follows the same style of past Lego titles, DC Super-Villains is the first title to incorporate a customised character into the story. The plot centers around the villains of the DC Universe who, in the aftermath of the Justice League's disappearance, reluctantly take on the role of the Earth's protectors and must defeat a rival group of super villains from another universe, who are masquerading as heroes while searching for a powerful item for their master.

Lego DC Super-Villains is a very interesting game. Its fairly rare where a game comes out and you get to play as the villains, so I was a little excited to try and evil Lego game. Unfortunately, they play it safe and even though you are playing as villains, your goal is to save the world. I was also disappointed by how few of the characters I recognized, but that’s more on me for not knowing many DC characters, and a little bit on DC for being worse than Marvel at making their characters mainstream.
However, this game also does a lot right, which made me really enjoy it overall. Firstly, I’ve always had a lot of fun playing with custom character creators, including those found in Lego games, but I’ve always been disappointed how Lego games only let you use your custom character when re-playing missions, something I rarely do. This game solves that. You start by creating a character, who is then a part of the main story. I think it worked really well in this game, especially since your character is not so central to the plot that they are in every single mission. This allowed me to play as my character some of the time, without feeling like my character was forced to be the main character in an already well established universe.
I also thought a lot of the voices sounded familiar. I’m not sure if they re-used voice actors from other DC media, such as the Batman Arkham games, or if they just got similar sounding voice actors, but it was really cool to hear voices that I was already familiar with for many of the characters that I did recognize.
During the 12.6 hours it took me to beat this game, I did have 1 crash on one of the post-main story missions, but that may have just been a fluke.
Overall, this is another Lego game. I was a little disappointed by the direction the story went, but it also did some things I really liked, and overall it is a Lego game. They’re all kind of the same so if you like Lego and DC, you’ll probably really like this. Just don’t go in expecting to be doing much actual villainy.

18 Hours, completed main story, Lego games are among some of my favorite games, played them since childhood, and this one is amazing, hope we see more like it in the coming future, onto the next game for me.
- Among the features in this game, one of the best (imo) is the whole main protagonist being you with your own custom character and able to absorb all powers as well mix & match them is amazing, the only limit is pretty much your imagination when it comes to the customization and the amount of matches you can make with all the powers is pretty awesome, I enjoyed it and I hope you do as well.
(PSST, if you have the option to use a controller on PC; I recommend doing just that.)

Over the course of a decade, TT released three different LEGO Batman games and 2018’s LEGO DC Super Villains marks the fourth such occasion. Fortunately, DCSV makes it clear from the very beginning it’s not just LEGO Batman 4, and brings much needed changes to a series running the risk of growing stale.
Custom characters have been a trademark part of TT's games since LEGO Star Wars II. Usually, the customisers used to make these characters are tucked away somewhere in each game's hub, but for the first time ever, it’s the main feature, with the game asking you to make one in order to even begin the first level. As a result, the customiser is the most expansive it's ever been, with the ability to create thousands of different characters, all more accurate than they’ve ever been. Want to bring Wolverine to the DC universe? By all means, go ahead! Want to create Duke Nukem instead? Go for it! How about Walter White? Goku? That one DC character TT sorely missed? It’s all right there for you. And if you want to create your own character like I did, you can easily do that too with the parts available.
Many of the trademark points in LEGO Batman games such as the batsuits and the soundtrack from the 1989 film are gone, giving DCSV a fresh coat of paint. The story centers around your custom character (known as The Rookie), capable of absorbing superpowers, teaming up with the villains of the DC universe to put a stop to the “Justice Syndicate”, who may or may not be responsible for the disappearance of the Justice League. Just like the references to the 1966 show in Batman 3, DCSV has several connections to The Animated Series, ranging from a DLC level based on Mask of the Phantasm to even bringing former Jedi-turned-criminal Mark Hamill and the late, great Kevin Conroy on board to reprise their roles for the game.
DCSV is to DC what LMSH2 was to Marvel, with many of its open world features being brought over, such as new challenges including graffiti tagging posters of Harvey Dent, finding character tokens and destroying bowties on statues. This time around, you also get a phone which serves as your minimap, capable of taking photos much like in LMSH2, as well as being able to receive text messages from the characters you’ve helped across your time in the open world. The Lantern hubs in Batman 3 got a mixed response, so fortunately not only is Gotham City back, but TT have finally included Metropolis into the mix, as well as Smallville & Apokolips.
Overall, LEGO DC Super Villains is the definitive game in the four game strong Batman series, with the best customiser in any LEGO game, plenty of things to do once you’ve finished the main story and a great VA cast to boot. LEGO Batman 4’s gonna have to kick some serious brick in order to surpass this one.

It was a great game, and i especially like how the main focus is a character of your making. Although there has been a couple times that i have randomly fallen through the ground and have to quit the game.
