Okay so I bought this on recommendation of my girlfriend who read the comics and played the game and hoooo boy I was not disappointed, I've played it through once so far, got a game over, then an ending with Selene, It's genuinely fun and I was theorising the entire way through. It's a yaoi game no doubt, there's penises to prove it, but it's still got really good plot and is enjoyable. If it wasn't midnight already I'd be doing my second playthrough right now!!

Tip - READ THE WEBCOMIC FIRST. This is still ok without that, but it adds a LOT. You can find it and the walkthroughs with a quick Google search.
Overall - I liked it, but it's quite stark and not terribly sentimental or romantic. Though neither is the webcomic it comes from. And really - how warm and fluffy can you realistically be when it's a story about horny lonely soldier bros out in space who all know they could die any second because they're on the losing side of a war?
Pros:
+ Lots of good quality CGs
+ Decent plot with twists
+ Lots of choices
+ Chance to (sort of) romance sad little Deimos. 💔
Cons:
- Would've been way more worth the $20 if it was longer and there was voice acting.

I played this novel 2-3 times in 2017. It's a wonderful thing.
— a short story that has been well worked
— unexpected twists
— charming Sci-Fi atmosphere
— replayability
— lots of interesting characters
— atmospheric qualitative OST
♡ Thank you to the authors for giving me a lot of pleasant emotions ( ´ ∀ `)ノ~ ♡ ♡ ♡

I read the webcomic that this is based a long time ago and had completely forgotten that the author was releasing a visual novel based on the comic. I recently stumbled across artwork by HamletMachine and it all came back to me. Super glad that I did because I love the author's artwork.
If you are intending on playing this, I highly suggest that you read the webcomic prior to playing because it would be better to get to know the characters before you dive into this story, though I guess it's not absolutely necessary, to an extent. Not to mention that the webcomic is INSANELY good.
I love how a majority of the characters from the webcomic are present in this game and I love the new characters, Helios and Selene as well.
I've managed to play all routes and get the true ending scene and I'm thoroughly satisfied with the diversity of 'endings'. Didn't expect some of them, especially not when it ended up being the MC and two others.
The music really fits the setting and story and I really like how the original characters don't diverge too much from their webcomic selves. Though it's not as long as a typical visual novel, it's a satisfying length and manages to tell the story in that time. And once again, I adore HamletMachine's art style, it's fantastic!
Definitely recommend this!

Starfighter: Eclipse is a Boys' Love visual novel game set in the same universe as Starfighter comics of the same orientation. Because of that, it's highly advisable to first read the comics, as most of the characters in the game have made their appearance there. The comics are short and completely free on the web, from them, you can also decide if you like this particular setting, and if yes, you are safe to go with the game.
We play as Helios (code name, everyone has one), a fighter, who is newly assigned to an Alliance starship Kepler. As he barely connects with his navigator, Selene, they are tasked with exploring an alien derelict ship. A simple recon mission turns bad when a member of another team gets hurt by a short circuit. Everyone pulls off from the derelict to the safety of the Kepler, but before long weird things begin to happen on the ship. Could one of them be a saboteur? Well, that's what Helios has to find out.
It's a standard visual novel game with many choices and five romantic/just-for-sex pursuable characters (Cain, Abel, Deimos, Selene, Hayden). The game spans a horizon of four days, so there is no time for usual courting and dating, and most of the time the boys go quickly down to business… if you get my point. ^_^ Only true everlasting happy end can be achieved with Selene as Cain and Abel are the main heroes from the comics and a pair that no one can separate. So even if you end up with one of them (or both) it's only for a brief moment, so enjoy it. ^_^
The story was quite interesting and enjoyable, also it was nice to revisit the Starfighter universe. The game could have been a little bit longer as you can be quickly done with it (there is a skip), but to say the truth getting on Deimos's route was pretty painful.
I liked the monochrome graphics with slight hues of other (mainly light blue) colors, in this, the game stays true to the comics. Also even if the graphics are slightly different from that in the comics it's still rather great and most of the CGs are exceptional and very erotic. The music is normal, nothing extra, but the opening and ending themes are pretty awesome and I have enjoyed listening to them very much. There is no voice-acting, but I don't take it as a problem.
My only complaint goes to the lack of save slots because, for the number of choices present in the game, it’s just not enough… Also more often than I would like the menu interface stopped working - I couldn't get into the save/load menu, to settings, to the main menu. The only way to make it work again was to restart the game.
But even with these little flaws I can recommend it to any lover of BL visual novels, you won't be disappointed. Also, there are no hard fetish practices or non-consensual sex and the mood is overall rather sweet.

-Definitely check out the Starfighter webcomic before playing!!!
I tried playing it without reading through the comic, and it was fine, but felt fast-paced and I didn't get a good enough feel of the characters to be super invested. After doing Abel's route, I decided to read through the comic, and it exceeded my expectations. The comic gives the world a lot of depth and connection to nearly all the characters you interact with or see. I plan on redoing Abel's route again to get a better feel for it with a new understanding of him and the world.
-Cons (glitches)
As of writing this review, I've only done 2 routes, and I already really like it. However, some downsides include odd glitches where I can't select anything on the side menu-bar, where only the fast-forward function will respond to my clicks. It can get annoying when I want to save before making any more decisions, but it will sporadically work again after some more dialogue. The other downside is also a possible glitch where the character images and their facial expressions will completely disappear for a second before being replaced with the next set image. That is, a character can be frowning at me, have their face disappear for a second, then have a more neutral expression. It's not a huge deal, but it looks kind of freaky at times.
-Pros (art, world & side-characters, replayability)
The plot is a little short, but still sweet, and I'm excited to play through the rest of the route. Even having just done 2 routes so far, I can tell the replayability is very good; they feel very different from each other, even though similar things will occur between the routes (obviously).
gay soldiers in space against unfathomably powerful aliens and screwing on the way, would be gay again 1000/10

LOTS of choices throughout and ending options. Great music, great art, fun dialogue, fun characters. I enjoyed this game so much!
