Combat is fun as hell. It reminds me of Enter the Gungeon, a game I tried but that didn’t stick with me.

The sound effect of bullets connecting with enemies is so satisfying. Combat overall was great and had a decent amount of build customization that I really enjoyed. As for the boss fights, they were all amazing and unique. It never felt unfair. The last boss was especially hard, but after learning the pattern I started to believe until I finally got it, and it was so worth it lol

I was a bit intimidated by the bullet hell genre, but I think this game was a great gateway. It starts out slow and eases you in with great pacing.

As for the negatives, the environment wasn’t the best. Both the heaven and hell areas felt barebones and lacked atmosphere. The map layout is also very confusing. Everything looks the same and it all blends together. There are a lot of hidden collectibles to get and they are so well hidden you need to walk into every wall and check every inch of the map since they can be anywhere. I wish we had a tracker to let us know if there were more collectibles to find in each area. Even with a guide, I had to check the full map since I didn’t know which ones I already got.

I also don’t like how, whenever the map changes layers, it’s so hard to tell which one is supposed to be deeper or more elevated.

Overall, this game is worth a try and I’m so excited for the sequel. I hope it can fix all the issues I had with this one, and I can’t wait to play it.

its short, sweet, easy, and fun. Cool game to test out your metroidvania and bullet hell skills. I expected something more gory but Bloody Hell is perfect the way it is. 10/10

Incredible for a game that's fully free! Similar to Hollow Knight in gameplay mechanics, just a lot smaller. Great metal soundtrack, fun character design choices.

Only complaint: Satan's monologue before you fight him uses "thy" (equivalent of your) in a couple places where it should've said "thou" (subject equivalent of you). Bugs me and ruins the drama just a bit.
