Hell to Raze is a top-down Hack and Slash platformer that focuses on grappling for combat and navigation. Play as the Prince of Hell fighting to reclaim his throne after being framed for his fathers’ murder. The prince uses his sword to grapple and swing through hell; slaying any demons that get in his way. You will confront multiple different enemies and puzzles that require the use of your sword to attack and grapple with. As you move through the layers of hell, the story unravels of who betrayed you and murdered the king; granting insight to the background of this stylized world.
Key Features:
- Multiple special attacks acquired from defeating bosses
- Earn new abilities as you gain experience from defeating enemies
- Stylized levels and bosses that carry their own theme
Hell to Raze was created by a team of 14 students in the Entertainment Arts and Engineering (EAE) Undergrad Program at the University of Utah.

Definitely a fun free to play, but has some issues that break the immersion of this being a fully fledged game, but the good news is they don't seem to be gameplay related.
Cons:
-Font is a default font, please select a font.
-Dialogue is limited and the jokes fall pretty flat, notably "S-word" and what appeared to be long pauses? (May have been a bug).
-No explanation on game mechanics. Took me forever to realize the fourth ability is health steal and not just health.
-Sounds are strange; Sword sounds like a hammer, being hit sounds like a dog?
-No path to guide on the first level, was a bit hard to figure out where to go.
Pros:
Gameplay is smooth, and fun, for combat.
Mechanics are fleshed out, grabbing, pulling, jumping with the chain reminds me of Legend of Zelda.
Art Style is nice, sometime inconsistent with the 2d art but overall great.
Could tell a lot of love went into it.
Story is interesting, give us more! A beginning cutscene to show us falling, or something!
Anyway great job!

Game mechanics are super satisfying when they work. The Boss Fights are challenging yet, rewarding when you beat them.
Suggestions:
- Some sort of progress display so I know how many keys I still need.
- The "pull" button often pulls me towards something, especially lanterns.
- The green flying enemies can't be pulled so I just had to spam the pull chain until they died.
- I still have no idea how any of the specials work, but I seem to be fine without them haha. Would love an explanation on how they work though because they seem like they might be cool!!

Once you get the controls down, it's pretty fun and has plenty of potential. However, It has it's fair amount of bugs.
1. Game Breaker Bug : If you get pulled into dialogue while falling off a ledge. You get a weird camera angle, and you lose control of your character. You have to force close the game and restart.
2. Beneficial Bug : If you do the uppercut and jump during the uppercut you'll get a super jump. It helps get a better view of the map, and see things out of view of the camera.
3. Enemy Bug : During the Mother boss fight, the cannons do not act the same from the Greed stage. Greed cannon enemies turn left and right with the left and right trigger attacks. In the Mother boss fight, the cannon enemies turn right with attacks, act as anchors to be pulled to with the right trigger, and fire with the left trigger. Not sure if this is intentional or not.
4. Game Breaker/Enemy Bug : After successfully breaking the chains in the mother fight, the game pulls you into dialogue, but Mother keeps attacking. Which happened every time I finished the fight, and she killed me during the dialogue. When you're attacked during the dialogue, you regain control of your character the moment you take damage. I managed to get past the Mother fight by breaking the chains without taking damage, and the moment I was attacked I dodged the rest of her attacks until she finished her dialogue, which then sent me to the next stage.
5. Game Breaker Bug : I could not complete the next stage after the Mother fight because the portal at the end was broken. I restarted the level, broken. Restarted the game, re-fought Greed, re-fought Mother, and made my way back to the end the level, still broken. Couldn't finish the game because of it.
I personally hope these issues get fixed, because I'd like to see the end of the game. Again, this game has plenty of potential!

Reasonably fun, but without a controller it's impossible as far as I can tell, if someone knows how to select and enter dialog without a controller, please help
