It might be a weird way to put it, but the Game reminds me in some Areas more at one of these (modern) Hidden Object Games (like True Fear and such) then a traditional Point & Click Adventore or Visual Novel. The Artistic direction, esp. how characters are animated in the world, the way you navigate through the map as well the level of Interaction & Puzzles go into this direction.
That being said that isn't meant in a negative sense because the Games offers quite a high quality art/3D Models, the Choice-System while maybe still somewhat simplistic does a pretty good job with shaping up your personality in the game as well the sanity and curiousity bar which effects the outcome and some minor other stuff. The Sex-Scenes itself are rather kinky but extremely well made/high quality and you need to be open up to certain fetishes (tho futa is optional and you can disable it in the settings).
What surprised me the most tho is the Atmosphere and how quite well the Story is written which interwines smut with some specific horror,- and religious themes.
The only critique so far which i've is, that - and don't get me wrong on this for the pricepoint you get quite amount of content, because it's so well done - even with the DLC bundled in, i just wished there would be more content to explore from sexscenes to the overall atmosphere and lore/story, to some more characters etc.

Well detailed point-and-click game with a horror/supernatural edge. Every love interest has fantastic designs for each potential love interest with everything between fairly vanilla and cute barmaid to potentially demonic succubi. One might be surprised that the story is fairly well written. Between choices, routes, character interactions, and general world building it doesn't really miss a step. That being said, the game is missing a dialogue skip step which makes replay a bit of a slog if you're going for different relationship or endings. This paired with the fact that menus (loading, saving, options, etc.) and some interactions take a few seconds to transition which only makes it a bit more annoying. Still, all the scenes are great with smooth loops, additional settings, and even skins (though these are used in conversations only).
Overall, it's a solid game that stands out among the saturated market this game stands in. Genuinely looking forward to more content if not an outright sequel/prequel that can give us an even greater variety of scenes and story.

Not bad. Some scenes are meh, other scenes are really good, especially with nun and demons. I would say next, this game is not catching stars gameplaywise, yet it may caught you by surprise couple of times. There are lot of interactions and events happening in every locations, esp with DLC. The map is compact and each area has objects of interest in it.
The nature of succubi and lust is there, they are dominant and possessive, manipulate and use desire against you. The most cast of characters are well done and hold the intrigue. Even the story is not boring to read through (instead of skipping it), what is rare tbh. Yet I recommend to read guide if you want to get all achievements after first playthrough.
If you like cute things you obviously would not like this, it is horror mixed with hardcore porn (sometimes). If you like horror that mix eroticism, fandom and dark fantasy - it is very good, just for experience purpose. It gives me vibes of "the Legend" film and Dracula B movies with it's dark mystic atmosphere. Even some Lovecraftian inspirations are not an overkill here and work for the general idea of what this adventure game tries to be...
The only frustration comes from realization that this game is criminally short and you can beat it in 4 hours and with DLC maybe 5-6 hours to get all achievements. Not because 6+ hours is not enough for a good game, but because I would wish a better character development and more depth to their story lines. Also I did not get clicking minigame, is it's purpose to test the RMB for durability? I would recommend turn off mini game (bless those devs they added this option, understanding their poor minigame design). But in general I'm quite satisfied.

I really liked the beginning and honestly the story is good, at least the first chapters, the last ones I feel that are a bit rushed.
Also the h-scenes were a bit of a letdown, don't get me wrong they are good, but at the end of them I always feel that "something" was missing, I do not know what or how to put it into words but they felt incomplete, either way, they are still quite good compared to 80% of all sexual games. The halloween costumes are top tier, that is undisputable for me.
Finally, I love to 100% the games, but due to how this game chooses the final endings, the first chapters have a lot of weight and in the end you will have to replay the game at least 4 times, that is if you are using a guide with all conversation results. And also you wont get the 100% because you need the DLC, but I think that is a Steam thing.
In the end, I had a good first hours but it starts to get a bit boring towards the end, and some endings are so short and bare bones that you will feel that there is still game to be played. Overall, take it if you like visual novels and want some semi-dark sexual game, but do not expect too much from it.
Also, the Demo is what got me to get it, so I recommend playing it, but take into account that the last chapters are not as good as the first ones.
Recommended because I belive that I had more good moments that boring ones.

Countess in Crimson is a great thriller/light horror VN with a hint of choices matter and some very light Adventure style puzzle-solving. Emphasis on light, there are no shifting shapes or Rubik's style permutations to distract you from enjoying the visuals and the story.
The characters are very well done, varied in styles and tastes, the proportions and skin textures are (in a welcome diversion from Digital Seductions other works) rooted in voluptuous reality. The lighting and themes are liberally artistic and masterfully done. Some assets will definitely resemble those used in other games of the genre, but overall the world and story is unique enough that only die hard fans of the genre will even notice, if at all. (Mostly some very well edited and brushed objects and of course, models)
The game is a clear evolution for Digital Seductions in terms of Art, Style, Polish, and Direction. A massive leap that shows just how much they've honed their skills, grown as a developer, and cemented their place in the genre.
An easy 9/10 if you're also a fan of old school Point and Click or Hidden Object Games in addition to the Adult, otherwise an 8.5 overall.
The only thing that holds Countess in Crimson back from being an absolute masterpiece of a game is the exact thing that would make it less suitable for the genre... gameplay and length. More puzzles, and more detail into the riveting story would easily make this a $30-$60 buy, but let's be honest... that's not what this game is. The fact that it manages to squeeze those elements in at all is an absolute bonus.
Replayability: You will want to play through this multiple times to sample all of the... options... on the table. Both, the ladies and the story. There are things that you will not see or that will shed light on questions from playthroughs of the different routes, and depending on whether you pick up on some of the hidden elements. They will change the story entirely. I highly recommend you try them all, and when you're ready to be done with the game - check a guide. You may find there were routes and endings you missed.
DLC: A note on the DLC - it spoils a big chunk of the game fairly early on through a mandatory meeting with one of the DLC characters, and opens up the possibility of unlocking far more mastery scenes than you should in a single playthrough. Please install and play the base game first. You will be doing yourself a disservice if you don't.
...or... you know... if you're just here to get your rocks off, do whatever.
