About the Game”Whose blood is that on the walls?” -Josie
Josie is up for a challenge. Her dad, a retired superhero, has fixed his superhero training simulator and lets Josie go in there to play around a bit. After all, show us a parent who wouldn’t want to train their daughter to be a superhero? But then suddenly the training room goes rogue, and… Josie is up for a challenge.
In this tough, hand-crafted precision platformer, you’ll play as Josie, aka. Sunblaze, with a mission to complete your superhero training. The training room is full of puzzles, brain-tickling challenges, obstacles, TNT, spikes, drones… And a purrfect sidekick: the cat. You have got a cat. What else do you need?
Well, skills. That’s what you need. The ever-changing training room keeps on bringing you challenge after challenge, and you’ll stay glued up on your controller for hours.
Being a parent is hard, but most likely not this hard
Ok, all the parents who have not lost their kids in a mall or other crowd ever, raise your hands? It’s all good, at least you didn’t lose them in a hostile superhero simulator full of lasers, evil bots, spikes, and… Well, go and see for yourself!
WARNING: Playing Sunblaze may cause massive brain growth
You know, to survive all the levels, your brain needs to do some work. We know, we know, it might sound scary, but like Aristotle said: “It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.”, and Quentin Tarantino put it even better: “Violence is one of the most fun things to watch.”
Oh, are you still reading? Go and get playing right now! We will promise you one thing: dying over 5000 times on one game has never felt this good.
(P.S. Dying is 100% optional, the already easy controls and gameplay can be customized with accessibility features to meet your own needs and wants.)

An excellent blend of precision platformer and puzzle. It’s a lot of fun, as the character should fly across almost the entire screen, requiring you to think about where to jump and what to activate next in order to complete the level.
I also really appreciate how the transitions between levels are executed in the game. Each new screen flows smoothly into the next right before your eyes, and it’s beautiful to see that they invested time into perfecting this aspect.
As for the downsides, there’s really only one – each level consists of a single screen. I believe this significantly hinders the game's potential. It definitely lacks larger levels that create a sense of space and adventure, similar to what you find in games like Celeste or Super Meat Boy.
However, despite this, it's still incredibly enjoyable to jump, move, and bounce off all these platforms, walls, and objects, discovering new possibilities along the way.
Overall, I highly recommend this game to platformer lovers.

Launching the game I expected to see another clone of Celeste or Super Meat Boy. However, although at first glance Sunblaze looks like their copy, its gameplay is very different from these games.
The main difference is that this game is a puzzle-platformer. Yes the game has challenging platforming sections. But the main difficulty of this game is the need to pick up the right sequence of actions on the level: what platform to destruct, how to get to the enemy, how to block the laser and so on. Also in the game is very beautiful pixel art and good music.
Perhaps the only disadvantage of the game is too many levels, because not all of them are well-designed. Some levels are easy to pass with the first try and some of them can take a whole evening.
Anyway Sunblaze is a great platformer for its price, not trying to repeat other representatives of the genre, if you like this genre, you should try this game.

This game hits a weird spot for me.
I love Celeste, which clearly has been a big influence for Sunblaze. On one side, I wouldn't mind some dashy hard platforming no matter the package, I just think the formula has so much potential. On the other hand, the Celeste modding scene has so many banger campaigns that I don't need any other game to fulfill that need.
But hey, this game has surprisingly good reviews for a knockoff so it's either really good or it offers something new despite of the looks. And it's... neither? But I really enjoyed it despite constantly feeling that it's frustrating?
It's a good game, more frustrating than what I'd like because the character feels too stiff (it's that microscopic double jump man) for such precise platforming, but I enjoyed the game and at the end of the day is all that matters. But one thing I have to concede, the way one screen transitions to the next is brilliant and makes it really hard to stop playing until you clear the chapter, some monkey brain magic right there.

Played on OG 512 steam deck without issues. This is fun, well made and tight precision platformer, just so good pure honest platforming bliss. Difficulty curve just right and gameplay so tight. Wow

It's a precision platformer. It's well made. It's challenging. If that's what you want, great.
My criticism is that there seems to be absolutely no learning curve. It's just hard from the get go. I've only done two chapters so far but the lack of a difficulty curve is off-putting. The last game precision platformer I played was Splasher and in that the levels get progressively harder. That was great as it encouraged you to up your game all the time. With Sunblaze I'm struggling to continue as it's very punishing all the time. It's like it wants to beat you down and it kind of wears me out. I like challenging platformers so that might sound a bit strange but that's how I'm feeling.
It's certainly not a bad game though and if you want a platformer that kicks your butt, this one certainly does.

Perfect precision platformer! Short one screen levels, but each room is unique, because of very good level design all over the whole game. Very nice soundtrack to nod your head to and keep on going. The movement has a double jump, a dash and a dash jump which when performed just right in rapid succesion is pretty much similar to Celeste's wave dash (dash+jump=long and quick dash-jump). The game requires you to use all movement options in different order, in different timed succesion and in synchronization of some level hazards or utilities. The nice story and nerdy humor are my thing. Difficulty rises in a well digestible curve and there are harder levels for experts and no hit achievements for crazy dudes. Also I like that when standing still the idle animation of the character is stretching and drinking water to remember us to do these healthy things :)
I wholeheartedly recommend Sunblaze in every aspect! I describe it as Celeste speedrunning in a nutshell.
