About the Game”Whose blood is that on the walls?” -Josie
Josie is up for a challenge. Her dad, a retired superhero, has fixed his superhero training simulator and lets Josie go in there to play around a bit. After all, show us a parent who wouldn’t want to train their daughter to be a superhero? But then suddenly the training room goes rogue, and… Josie is up for a challenge.
In this tough, hand-crafted precision platformer, you’ll play as Josie, aka. Sunblaze, with a mission to complete your superhero training. The training room is full of puzzles, brain-tickling challenges, obstacles, TNT, spikes, drones… And a purrfect sidekick: the cat. You have got a cat. What else do you need?
Well, skills. That’s what you need. The ever-changing training room keeps on bringing you challenge after challenge, and you’ll stay glued up on your controller for hours.
Being a parent is hard, but most likely not this hard
Ok, all the parents who have not lost their kids in a mall or other crowd ever, raise your hands? It’s all good, at least you didn’t lose them in a hostile superhero simulator full of lasers, evil bots, spikes, and… Well, go and see for yourself!
WARNING: Playing Sunblaze may cause massive brain growth
You know, to survive all the levels, your brain needs to do some work. We know, we know, it might sound scary, but like Aristotle said: “It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light.”, and Quentin Tarantino put it even better: “Violence is one of the most fun things to watch.”
Oh, are you still reading? Go and get playing right now! We will promise you one thing: dying over 5000 times on one game has never felt this good.
(P.S. Dying is 100% optional, the already easy controls and gameplay can be customized with accessibility features to meet your own needs and wants.)

By looking at it, you might assume this is just a Celeste clone, but the game stands on its own. Unlike Celeste, Sunblaze is less about carrying out ultra-precise jump sequences, but more so about figuring out what that sequence is. Most of these jump puzzles are great and dopamine rush you get after completing them is immense.

Going to have to give a thumbs down not for the game itself but for technical issues. For whatever reason, the game will no longer load. On steam deck at least, it is stuck forever on loading.
Edit: Was able to resolve issue with Steam Deck.

A cute yet hardcore precision platformer with a similar graphic style of Celeste, though it becomes its own thing.
Movement is more limited but very responsive, which makes sense since all levels in this game happen in a set space with no sidescrolling whatsoever. However, aside from the basic mechanics that the game teaches you, there are few more advanced features that you can take in your advantage, such as spikejumping like in Dustforce.
Most platforms become unstable after few moments meaning that doing things in order is crucial here and levels can be seen as little puzzles. Each level can be done in seconds and one thing that I liked is that the following level will start at the position you finished the previous one, making chapters very frantic in a good sense.
I won't comment on the story as it is very forgettable and more of an excuse to add some senseful context.
If you enjoy these type of games you'll surely like Sunblaze, it is a very fun title and satisfying to play. Do all achievements if you enjoy pain and suffering

If you enjoy games like Celeste, Bzzzt, and others, I highly recommend it!

It took me ~15 hours to complete this game 100% on all difficulty levels. Great game!

What happens when tight platforming, complex puzzles, and rage-like difficulty combine.
Sunblaze is a relatively short game all about completely single screen platforming challenges, that often require you to also figure out HOW to complete them, before you have to perform well enough to actually leave each level.
I'll be honest and say that I don't think this game is going to appeal to many people, mostly because it's truly, maddeningly difficult. I finished the game after completing everything in it (minus the "hard" levels) with almost 2000 deaths. I've played lots of difficult platformers and have a relatively high skill at them, so this game is NOT recommended for beginners, or even moderately skilled players.
However, if you're the kind of player that has high skill and/or a love for difficult, near pixel perfect required platforming at a fast pace, you might just love this game. There were a few puzzle that required me to completely rethink my approach because what I wanted to do was actually impossible. Other times, I discovered that what I was trying to do that seemed impossible WAS the correct solution, but I had to have frame perfect, or near frame perfect, timing to get the height I needed off a jump.
On top of the regular levels, there are certain levels with an added challenge of earning a special data cube. This makes those levels more difficult, and if you obtain all the cubes, you unlock the "hard" version of the chapter you're in. I didn't enjoy the hard levels as much as the normal level, so I didn't bother with them, but know that this game has a LOT of content. On top of that, once you complete the game, you can enter the Lost Levels stage, which is a longer chapter comprised of levels and obstacles that didn't make it into the base game. There's even one obstacle that you won't see anywhere else in the game, so the lost levels were a lot of fun.
On top of THAT, there's also a death tracker, a timer, and tons of achievements for accomplishing different extremely difficult goals. If you're a completionist, I don't recommend this game, because some of the achievements are grueling to achieve.
So, in the end, I would recommend this game, but ONLY to people who want something that is extremely difficult. Harder than Hollow Knight, Celeste, Nine Sols, etc. This is closer to a rage game than other standard games, but you get to reset each levels rather than having to reset back before previous challenges.

Randomizing and clearing my backlog as best as I can - 28/343
Honestly, if Celeste didn’t exist, this would be a great game, maybe even excellent. But comparatively, it’s not even in the same ballpark as Celeste. Great platformer, but all it does is make me want to play Celeste.

Very fun game, right now I'm on Ch3, however there are some minor problems like if you're grabbing a corner and press the opposite direction then you will automatically jump, in some levels this is a huge pain if you have muscle memory from games like The End is Nigh or Celeste like me, I wish there was at least an option to turn it off, second minor problem is not knowing if you still have the second jump which was a problem mostly at the start, just as the second jump being kinda low (Sometimes it looks like you can grab a corner with it but no you can't because it's not enough heigh), finally but perhaps this is mostly a me problem is not having clear what should I do, sometimes I beat the level using dash + jump, cornerboost, bonking to a wall to get a kinda third jump mid air or spike jumps and I'm not sure at all if these solutions are intended, but still very fun game.
And also idk why but the option for windowed mode for me kinda doesn't work? it just gives the game black borders
