A pretty decent seep entry. I don't understand why seep doesn't make more games like this. It seems like every time I pick up a seep game I never know if it's going to be well thought out or not. This game still has some issues like enemies take way too long to die for example. I'd prefer better enemy traps like in castlevania and megaman nes games than spongy enemies but there are some neat ideas in the levels here and it's mostly entertaining to play. Upgrades are a bit underwhelming and having to do some grinding after collecting all the gold parts at the end wasn't great (I just redid the first world) but it wasn't too bad. I do wish there was more gold as I beat the game without only about 50% of the upgrades.
Still, a fun game with well thought out enemy placement. More like this, less like airborn justice which just feels rushed with terrible enemy placement. Mot of that game can be beat by just avoiding enemies and finding the best line to stay in. not how you wanna play a shmup.

Steam Deck: Fully playable. The only issue encountered was that the first time I loaded it up the A/B and X/Y buttons were swapped.
This is a decent, if a bit uninspired, platformer. A bit on the easier side (I never even bought magic until after I had already beaten the final boss), but fine. I think my biggest complaints are that the bosses can be repetitive hit sponges (with only 1 pattern each), and the money distribution is a bit unbalanced (the first level tends to be the fastest to grind money, which is the opposite of how it should be). If it looks like your type of game go ahead and give it a try. You could do a lot worse.

If you like 2d platformers this is an enjoyable game. Nothing too complicated here. If you can get it on sale like I did for just under a dollar it's a terrific deal.

it's short, but fun retro platformer!

Recommended for anyone who likes the ghosts and goblins style of game without the insane difficulty. Sure, I died a few time on certain bosses and stage, and that was great, I worked out the best plan of attack and got through them.
There are 50 main stages plus the final boss world with a few extra stages plus the boss battle.
Now, when I rate something, I *always* take price into account.
I paid a BUCK for this. One AU dollar.
As you can see I got 5 hours of enjoyment for that dollar, and I did 100% the game.
I liked it enough that I wanted to make sure it was absolutely 100%.
There are two endings btw, a good and bad ending, and you can be fooled to think the bad ending really is the end of the game. Just have a look around the map is my advice;)
Controls were tight, there was multiple magic power ups to buy and abilities like double jump. This is the sort of stuff I really like, when you can add power to the character. BTW my time with it does include grinding the first 10 levels about 10 times each for money so I could upgrade some abilities further.
If you want to 100% it, you have to do all that anyway. If you are happy with the "bad" ending, a seasoned action platform player can get through the 50 levels in half an hour, as the levels are very short (which is another thing I like, ZERO long droning levels. So if you die, having to do the entire level again has never been as little of an issue as it is in this game).
Graphics and sound?
Well, GFX are actually pretty decent for the retro pixel action platform genre, with nice colouring and detail, but I can't remember any parallax scrolling which I am a sucker for. Had it not been a budget title, that would have been a fair complaint. There are a couple catchy tunes but the sound does sort of get repetitive.
Again, I am judging it by the price tag as even RRP is fair for what you get, and the fact I enjoyed myself enough NOT to put it down but to complete it to perfection.
Add in the good controls (I used a bluetooth controller) and we have a little winner here.
