Skyfear
PLAY YOUR WAY
Skyfear is a fighting game like no other. In the spirit and style of genre-defining shooters of the 2000-2013 videogame era, Skyfear hosts a variety of ways to play centered around the core match-based gameplay. With flying mechanics inspired by the aerial agility of bats, Skyfear puts you in control of a prehistoric wyvern ready to fight other wyverns with fire and blood. Breath fire, shoot fire bolts, dodge and roll mid-air, launch special ability attacks, and make use of physical trait perks that suit a variety of playstyles. Play battles with standard rules, or customize your own.
A GAME FOR LONE WOLF OR PACKS
For many players, videogames are an escape. Skyfear hopes to respect that by, while offering multiplayer capabilities, also offering full support for offline play as a single player. Fast internet, groups of friends, or extra payments, none of these are required to play offline battles versus dynamic AI opponents and continue to earn in-game progress. AI difficulty and features can be adjusted.
FEATURES
- Custom games, server browser
- Run or fly, take the combat to the ground or the air
- Responsive aerial maneuvering; combat is about position and timing
- Online PvP or offline versus dynamic AI bots, both earn progress
- Character customization
- No microtransactions

Very fun, especially the carrier game mode. Still in early access and has some time to go, but so much fun to play with friends. The developer is very communicative and listens to feedback. Definitely check it out!

credit to the dev(s), who provided this fix in the steam discussion section.
I'm struggling between recommending and not recommending it. I'd give it 6/10. At the current phase the game looks far from complete, not even having a proper main menu... Or maybe that is a feature dev want to show us? As a huge fan of dragon games, I want to do my part to support the dragon game community. But I may not linger in the current state of game for very long due to lack of content and progression system. Also maybe some story and plot element is needed.
Suggestion for now:
- A campaign, or a dragon-care-related system/mode that separates this game from century age of ashes. Right now this game looks too much like century. But without human I'd say that's a huge plus
- Improve animation. Take off animation and a lot others having stiff and sudden transformation.
- More details to the dragon model. Such as injuries when hp is low, or burn marks, blood particle.
- A proper menu (or not). In case some of us want to adjust graphic settings before we enter big scenes.
- Customizable lair? Maybe we can play around our dragon.

Let me get this out of the way first. The landscapes are very bland, the character animations are way too stiff and puppet like, models are lacking in polish, and their isn't much to do aside for killing each other. And yet despite all of that, I see the makings of a great dragon game in the near future, the controls are smooth if a bit floaty, the combat is competent and engaging, theirs a decent amount of customization, and I like the fact that you can walk on the ground and even have a close-range melee attack, most dragon dog-fighting games don't have that. Seeing that this is all made by one guy I won't be too harsh, but I would love to see what will be implemented in the future, maybe some new modes, new types of creature NPCs, a mode that focuses on ground combat and platforming, a PvE Mode, an actual story, who knows.

I came across this game while browsing steam a couple of months ago and I'm glad to see its release. The aerial combat feels smooth and the controls are easy to grasp. There are different game modes which add nice variety (team deathmach, FFA, duel, hold the zone, carry the crown etc).
The game runs well overall, haven't run into any crashes yet. There are a couple of minor bugs, like the dragon occasionally flipping upside down, but they don't significantly impact the experience. I do wish we could customize the keybindings, but I assume this is a planned feature anyway as the game is still in early access.
Overall, I see great potential here and look forward to future updates!

Early access offers some neat interactions.
Gameplay can feel a bit bare bones with how the dogfighting plays with the bots. The game offers a few modes for score tracking, but most play similarly trying to track opponents in the air and time your actions for an attack.
Multiplayer can afford some more fulfilling engagements against other players, though network stability seems a problem, while I can connect to a few other players for a game, I wasn't able to host without freezing on a loading screen. (This bug has been logged and will hopefully be fixed in time.)
Some animation jank to be had with the dragon if you mash several buttons at once.
The starting area offers a nice place to familiarize oneself with the controls. Though, the current lack of remapping does make it difficult to get used to. Compounded by some odd tendency for the game to let my mouse leave the window, or eat up inputs during attack runs on an opponent.
The integrated progression system offers the standard fare of rewards, you unlock more abilities and perks with xp. Earning currency allows you to unlock cosmetics in the lair world. I liked the touch of the unlocks falling from the sky as meteors, adds some personality to the game.
Hoping to see what this game's development has in store. A lot of stuff to iterate and improve with a decent arcade base to work with.

its a fast paced game where you dogfight with dragons (Wyverns technically), it needs polish but its a good simple game to play and is fun regardless.

At last. I've been waiting for a game to come out for years that lets me feel the same 'lizard-brain dragon go pew pew' as Drakengard 1 has back in the day.
Looking forward to its future updates!
