Meteoric VR Review
Space Giant
You have been super-sized. And we are in need of your help in protecting planet Earth. Use these scientifically made gloves, which allow you to shoot laser shots to destroy the incoming meteors that are threatening the earth itself.
The Game of The Play
Meteoric VR is a solo tower defense VR game. In this case, the player is on top of the earth and needs to shoot laser balls at meteors, asteroids, comets, and, from time to time, alien spaceships too, to save the earth.
By swiftly moving their hands back and forth, the player will shoot a laser ball from their hands. And this can be upgraded to laser beams, hand shields, and energy balls. Some meteors carry temporary upgrades for during the round the player is playing in.
The gameplay might seem like much while looking at Steam, but when playing, it is more enjoyable than you first thought.
Game-Modes
Missions
The game currently has five levels dedicated to protecting the Earth. After completing all the levels, the player will be able to proceed to protecting the moon, which is currently not in the game update.
The player can change the difficulty of the level but needs to be skilled enough to get three stairs on a level even in easy mode.
Challenges
At challenges, the player can choose from:
Astronauts (Don’t kill Astronauts), Comets (Don’t let any comet fly away), Laser (Use only the laser beam weapon), and One Hand (Shoot only with left hand)
Endless
Basically, as the name suggests, it's an endless run, and the whole reason you’re playing it is to reach the top of the scoreboard.
Mobile
In the Mobile game mode, it allows friends of the player to join their game and manually shoot the meteors for any direction in 180% or 360%. This is a choice the player can make before starting the match.
The friends of the player will need to download the mobile app and then join the player's room code, kind of like Kahoot.
Shop
In the shop, there will be two tabs: Abilities & Skins.
Abilities
At Abilities, the player will see three purchasable upgrades to their defensive fighting: Laser Beam, Hand Shield, and Energy Ball. Each item can be upgraded to another level, which then probably gives the ability a bit better stats.
Skins
Currently, there are only two purchasable skins, which only change the skin of the player's hands/defensive weapons.
More skins might get added over time.
Settings
The settings include:
Sounds – ON/OFF
Music – ON/OFF
Aim Assist – ON/OFF
Credits
So the player cannot change the volume of the sound or music but can rather turn it off. Then, if the player wants to have an aim assist, it can be dealt with in the settings too.
In there, the player can also see the game’s credits.
Visual & Audio
Visuals
The graphical textures are slim and simple in the game. The laser shots and beams are all well done and explode when the target is hit.
Exploding a meteor will cause small stones and rubble to fly out into space, making it both very cool and satisfying to watch.
The player is only a simple pair of gloves with crystals attached to the front side of them, or the lower side, to say. And new gloves can be bought at the store, but they are pretty simple in look, but the idea is bright.
Audio
Volume is not something this game has, either the player has sound ON or OFF and the same goes for music.
If they want to listen to their own music and don’t want to hear the meteors explode, then simply turn it off and enjoy your own music. The original volume is a bit loud, but it is just on the edge of going from being okay to not okay.
And if any player feels like the volume is too high, simply lower the volume for the entire game through the computer's sound and volume settings.
There will be a voice telling the player from which direction the meteors are coming. As well as an arrow pointing in the direction they are in.
Sound effects for everything, such as shooting, charging up the laser beam, and simply exploding stuff, all sound pretty good.

My final little thoughts
The game is enjoyable, and more content is coming soon. I have to say that I recommend the game, but the price is a bit high, though it's still understandable since there is more effort into making a good working VR game experience.

Absolutely in love with this game; I've already spent tens of hours on it with my Quest.
It's so much fun and provides a good workout—a must-have for every VR owner.
I'm looking forward to seeing what the developers will do with it now after its release on Steam!

Experienced on the Meta Quest 2 and 3
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here:
I did beat the main game mode on easy & medium difficulty. I would say that took me about 30 minutes. I did not try the hard difficulty and I also didn't get perfect 3 stars on each of the 5 levels. There is also the challenges mode, the endless mode, & the mobile (have no idea what that is).
I did have fun playing this game. It's a 360 gesture-based wave shooter. You get a good workout while playing this game. However, it lacks content to justify the price tag. Also, it does need some fine-tuning with the abilities so that there is some strategy on when to use them. It also needs better tuned challenges & boss fight.
It's running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting 90 fps on the Quest 2. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. You do need to play standing or the challenge will be difficult playing seated. The developer does state that Moon levels are coming soon.
Rate 6/10.
