I like that the app has a prevew mode, and that it adds the 10 sec delay.
it does everything you'd want and it really nice for a free app.
i'd like to be able to press the record through the vive desctop screen though but somehow that does not seem to work.
it just stops reading my cursor movement when i have the app running.
thank you for a good app though!

The discription mentions, "you can record the full scene with VRCapture and create immersive videos." I just tried it and their is no immersive video capability or recording the full scene. During playback in the Vive, the scene that the user sees is stuck looking where ever the player was looking during the recording. I was recording Panoptic, which would have been a perfect option for recording the immerisve or full scene view for someone to look around the recorded view however they chose when viewing the recording.
Is there something we are missing in settings that should alow the playback to be similar to a 360 video on youtube?

If having issues with black screen, meta mic issues, uploading videos. I went a head a trouble shot all that and posted a video on youtube and steam. Hope it helps. For as rating the app... It's a simple app that does a simple job. Records your gameplay and stores the files on your computer. Is it the best? No. Is it the worst? No. A very simple in the middle of the road app for recording VR gameplay.

Give it a chance or second chance.
This is actually a great piece of software. I have been looking for something like this for awhile. I honestly tried it and was sadly disappointed with the results. So I deleted it. A few month later I came back and gave it a second chance.
I am using this with WMR. The first time I used it, I recorded a VR scene and then played it back in the same WMR headset. I notice that it just followed the movements I made during the recording and gave no 180 degree motion to look around. I wanted something that I can record a 180 degree SBS video in my VR scene.
So after deleting it and a few month later, I decided to give it another try. This time though I recorded my scene without moving my WMR headset. I then took the video and played it back on my Galaxy S8+ and Gear VR headset. I used the Skybox Movie player app and adjusted the settings to 180 degree SBS FishEye. And BAM! my VR scene is playing like a 180 degree VR video.
The software works as pretty well, but it dose tend to crash when using the player to view the video. The video quality dose need some improvement. So give it a chance or in my case a second chance and help it grow.

It definately takes its toll on your system, but that is understandable. I can upload flat videos to youtube, but uploading a 360 for cardboard view fails every time. Unfortunately none of the errors are passed through. I have a super fast internet connection and no dropouts, definately an error with the uploader.

This has been working great for me. Easy to install, easy to use, and easy to do what I wanted to do. Can use some improvements, like starting via VR controller, etc.. but overall.. a great product that works.

This works extremely well. Had no problem recording a session and uploading to youtube to share with others.
Change your video recording drive (I had to since it defaults to drive D:)
