I can only half-recommend this game. The story and the atmosphere are both good, although I have to agree with other reviewers that there are some elements that seem unfinished (pretty sure more was meant to happen with the cat outside the apartment , for example). I liked the setting of a dystopian Prague, since I also know and like the city. The voice acting is decent. but as others have said, the game's ending leaves many questions unanswered and this is a slight disappointment.
All in all, I'd recommend it for the atmosphere, decent graphics and decent voice acting. However, it's probably more something who really love adventure games and dystopian themes in particular.

Dystopian point-and-click from ten years ago, some elements of violence that are unnecessary to the plot, only get it on steep discount if you are a fan of the genre

Though the end did not convince most, and I would have wished for a bit more as well, I loved the game. The story took me in from the beginning: the game creates an atmosphere of hopelessness but at the same time there is the spark of revolt, personified in our protagonist.
The end is more or less open for me, as I believe, the two will not have given up.
and I recommend this game !

I purchased this game for 2 euros, which, on the minimum wage in my nation, will take about 10 minutes to earn.
And that's about as far as I'd go—this game may be worth 10 minutes of your labour, but certainly not 10 euros.
The main problem with this game is that it stumbles around for about 7 hours trying to build something gripping and engaging, and when it finally succeeds at immersing you into the story it simply ends; there's no closure to any of the main plot points and everything is left on a cliff hanger. And that is where it will remain forever—the company behind this game went defunct and judging by its reception, I doubt the publisher or IP holders will be willing to pursue a sequel.
It is a shame, really. The premise is interesting and the world is built up just enough as to drag you into the story. Chic environments packed with details make some tedious PnC-isms all the more bearable and it, being set in Prague, clearly allowed the developers to create scenes that look exactly as you'd imagine they should. Crashes interrupt the experience semi-frequently.
While the story is decent, it's sullied by the aforementioned dead-end plot, comically bad VA, some illogical setpieces and a terribly written and poorly approached bit of sexual violence.
I'd be fully recommending this game had it received a sequel, but it hasn't. If it piques your interest, buy it on sale. If you're hoping for something smooth and comprehensive—click on.

I am bit on the fence about this game. On the one hand, I feel that it had a lot of potential (which wasn't utlizied). On the other, I felt like the ending was rushed and I really didn't have a full sense of resolution.
Pros:
Interesting plot, with darker themes
Dsytopic (for those that like that in their games)
Multi-players to play as
Interesing locals
Cons:
Graphics were a bit blurry
The voice-acting (mainly the women) was ehhhh. Some of the female voices were borderline nails on a chalkboard to me or too stilted in terms of emotion
The ending was very disappointing (at least for me...I needed a bit more and just some questions were not answered)
Massively annoyed with some of the bugs in this game (sometimes the game would crash because of some glitch at random periods in the game) and the leeway time between cutscenes.
I got roughly 3-4 hours of game time out of it. The game played a bit choppy for me (though that could have been due to the glitches...I had to keep rebooting the game).
I did get this game while it was on sale a while back (I think I payed around 1.89 or some such price). I don't know if I would replay it (which is for me is criteria for a good game...my desire to replay), but I think it's worth checking out if you aren't paying full price and you need a game to kill a couple of hours. Also if you do purchase, save the game (ALOT) just in case of bugs. Sometimes it will crash in the middle of completeing certain tasks and it is a pain to go through the motions all over again.
I did debate whether to recommend this game or not (I wish steam would give more than yes or no), but I am saying recommend ONLY IF it is on sale. It is not worth full price for me as it still has glitches, choppy flow, problematic voice acting.

AlternativA is a dystopian sci-fi point-and-click adventure game developed by Centauri Production and published by Bohemia Interactive in 2010. Set in a bleak near-future version of Prague and Brazil, the game tells a dark story exploring themes of violence, corruption, and oppression in a world dominated by powerful corporations and an authoritarian government.
Visually, AlternativA features nicely detailed prerendered backgrounds and passable 3D character models, though some animation issues exist. The interface is straightforward point-and-click with simple puzzles that are logical but sometimes require tedious backtracking. The voice acting quality is inconsistent and the music unremarkable.
The dystopian setting and gritty narrative seem well-realized, even if the storytelling is marred by gaps, logic issues, and an abrupt, unresolved ending. Gameplay wise, AlternativA offers a solid but unexceptional point-and-click experience typical of its mid-budget indie origins.
Reviews indicate AlternativA succeeds more as a thoughtful, if flawed, dystopian narrative than a standout gameplay experience. Fans of cerebral sci-fi and classic adventure games may find it worth a playthrough for the atmosphere and themes, but flaws like technical issues, pacing problems, and an unsatisfying conclusion hamper its overall quality. At a steep discount it may be worth a try for genre enthusiasts, but overall AlternativA falls short of being a must-play.

Really good point and click, great value if you get it in a sale. The storyline is interesting, voiceovers are good too. It can be a bit clunky with a few crashes (but that may just be my PC) but on the whole I found it a very enjoyable game as a big P&C player. Definately worth a pop if it's going cheap.
