PC Virtual LAB

Barely passable as an educational app. I would not recommend this unless you know absolutely nothing about PCs. App takes less than 15 minutes to complete. You are only scored at the very end. It's very difficult to pick up items from the table. Took me multiple attempts. Very basic instructions and interactions. You're not even using any of the correct tools so it's more of get to know the parts versus learn to actually do it correctly IRL. You do have full locomotion and snap turning available.
Rate 5/10. Not really worth the download or time for me, but maybe for a complete noob to PC building.

It looks like it is intended as a school project. The performance is very poor even though there is not much content here. There are just a few parts to plug into the computer case and some explanation about them.
I like the idea and it clearly shows the potential of VR in use for educational purposes. After having this experience, it is not difficult to imagine how it would be fun and productive if an educational experience like this came out of a professional studio.
I would appreciate and encourage these kinds of projects as long as they are roughly playable and show their purpose.

the game is OK, thats all it has for it, i played it in vr, and was my whole interest downloading and to play it in the first place, once i booted it up i was constantly falling through the world and had to restart the game 3 times to properly get in, on my machine (very high end) still failed to run smoothly, parts were hard to grab and some stuff for the labels werent even an option, game has a good idea behind it it just needs some work to be good

Great way to introduce noobs to PC building. After playing this game, you will be able to recognise all the main components and where to locate them. As well as information and different options for each element.
Now, if also you watched Henry Cavill step by step PC assembling video you are ready to go! 🌈

PC Virtual LAB is a Free VR education game about the basics of computers. It worked on my HTC Vive system, sounded ok, looked ok, Played Ok, was understandable. Lobby worked ok, could grab and move items there, except the SSD was difficult to grab. Has VR movement mode of slow smooth touchpad moves and snap turn. Has choice of English and Spainsh language. Did recognize my HTC Vive and provided diagram with the controls used. There is a subtle item highlight that is hard to see and too easy to move when you are grabbing item, making it difficult to use the program. The information provided on the subject of computers was factual and in a basic way. The textual information in English was understandable.
CONS:

- Need instructions in the lobby about the subtle item highlight that is hard to see and too easy to move.
- The Results at the end are in Spanish, under the English playthrough.
- The CPU Cooler model is TOO large.
- Does Not work with Index.
- Does Not work with Meta Quest 3 via Steam Link.
Try it, if you wanna teach someone else something basic about personal computers.

Downloaded just to see how accurate it'd be, heres some points
Questionable information (fairly minor):
-Storage terminology is often wrongly applied.
-The RAM goes into slots 3 and 1, while usually 2 and 4 are recommended by manuals.
-In reality spec sheet parameters like CPU frequency are not useful to compare CPUs when you got benchmarks and all that stuff.
Language issues:
-I didn't look closely, but I had no issues except the results menu being Spanish.
Took me only like 10-15 minutes because I knew this all already, except the chipset being referred to as PCH, which might even be inaccurate.
I actually don't mind the janky controls over like PC building simulator, because this is faster and any manual will state basic stuff like lowering the GPU and RAM clips.
Fine for a beginner getting to know different parts and their location.

It is a great way to introduce pc building to others, but the movement control of the game is not that great. It is absolutely for the one who lacks pc understanding
