Our Community
About the GameAnother Crab’s Treasure is a soulslike adventure set in a crumbling underwater world. As Kril the hermit crab, you’ll need to wear the trash around you as shells to withstand attacks from enemies many times your size. Embark on an epic treasure hunt to buy back your repossessed shell, and discover the dark secrets behind the polluted ocean.
TRASH OR TREASURE?
In this undersea society, trash is not only a way of life, but a valuable resource, used for everything from fashion to firearms. But with the presence of trash comes a mysterious infection known as the Gunk, which could spell doom for the entire ocean.
LEARN FROM NATURE
As Kril explores the ocean, he’ll gain a variety of Umami Techniques—powerful attacks learned from the denizens of the seas. Punch your enemies with the overwhelming might of a Mantis Shrimp, ensnare them with the horrifying Bobbit Worm, and much more.
UNEXPLORED DEPTHS
The ocean goes deeper than one can imagine. Fight your way through kelp forests, coral reefs, sand castle cities, and even the unfathomable darkness of the deep-sea trenches, all in the name of getting back your prized shell.
PLAY AT YOUR OWN PACE
Designed to be an approachable experience for newer soulslike players as well as provide a challenge for hardcore fans, Another Crab’s Treasure offers something for any level of skill or time commitment. Another Crab’s Treasure is a soulslike with real personality. Beneath its colorful style and humor, it explores consumerism and excess, showing a world full of discarded objects and careless consumption. The game quietly shows how things gain and lose value, turning trash into both a resource and a lesson for players who notice.
P.S.: I wish it was easier to view the map and add pins.

This game proves that you can make a parody that is still an above-average game and not just spoofing the genre. Charm oozes from the story and even textboxes in the game—and while it's no Elden Ring in terms of complexity and fluidity, the action and exploration in this humorous soulslike are very decent.
Unfortunately, it lost me completely in the very first big town. Such games are not made for long peaceful patches with dozens of characters—I just couldn't find the tempo once it has been lost. But the game is still so charming, it gets a thumbs up, and I can easily recommend it to everyone who will be a bit more patient with it.

Crab Souls. Demon Crab? Crabden Ring. Doesn't matter, it's simultaneously a great game and a brilliant message on environmentalism and ocean pollution.

Another Crab's Treasure is a game that took me by surprise. From the initial advertising I took this to be a more lighthearted, cartoonish take on the soulslike genre, but I couldn't have been more wrong. I can't believe I passed up on getting this game sooner.
This game has a lot to say in terms of its messaging. The setting is the modern day ocean that is plagued with garbage everywhere, to the point that the world uses microplastics as its currency. It's very bleak, and the game never holds any punches on driving that message home. The ocean is dying for reasons out of anyone's control, and all they can do is try to find some meaning within all the chaos. More than once it's questioned if the ocean's even worth saving, because of how far gone things have gotten.
I appreciate how the game is able to balance this pretty depressing situation with a lot of comedy, both through dialogue and a LOT of visual humor. As the ocean is filled with trash there is a lot of off-brand garbage based on real life counterparts, which had me smirking any time I figured out what something was. The entire world is extremely well thought-out and made exploration feel very fun, there was always something new and interesting right around the corner.
As for combat I'm relatively new to the soulslike genre (far preferring roguelikes myself), so this was a nice way to really sink my teeth into the genre properly, especially with a multitude of accessibility settings to curate how exactly I want to play the game without punishing me for it. The combat itself was quite fun although some enemies felt a bit too unforgiving with poorly telegraphed attacks, all in all it serves its purpose really well. My only real complaint with the game (which seems to be a common one) is how easy it is to get stuck on terrain and enemies getting unfair hits in.
For real though, Another Crab's Treasure was a pleasure to play through from start to end. While it's a bit rough around the edges it's rare for me to see a game that's just brimming with so much passion in not only its gameplay, but its story and worldbuilding as well. This game truly is a gem and I can't recommend enough.

First Souls-like that hooked me since Dark Souls 3. The story and art style are kid-friendly, but the game on default settings was surprisingly challenging to me. That is until the reverse difficulty curve kicks in. There's also a lot of accessibility features meaning literally anyone should be able to play this game and have fun. The mechanics are tight, there's a lot of fun secrets items, a few optional bosses, and a story that's basically Wall-E meets The Little Mermaid. The last level had some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ platforming and there aren't really "builds" like in most RPGs (unless a binary choice between melee or magic counts), but even with those two criticisms I can heartily recommend this game to basically anyone who's interested.

What at first appears to be a cute souls-like game for kids about a crab getting his shell stolen turns into a story of found-family, anti-capitalist views of the world and loss. I think the game put it very simply: “What word comes to mind when you think of earth?”. Kril, the main character, a hermit crab that wants nothing more than to be left alone, is suddenly making friends and enemies against his will in a world that is polluted with trash. Of course Kril’s response to that is “It’s mean, and it’s rude, and it’s scary. And everything nice in it just gets messed up eventually anyway.”. This isolationist mindset Kril has is challenged during the main campaign, and the story has a clear message: The cost of inaction makes the world a worse place. This game doesn’t have the world-building of the other souls-like games but at least it gave us a relatable and likeable main character... Which is just a tiny crab. I think this game is really charming, fun and the characters just… RESONATE with you. I really loved it from start to finish and honestly, I can recommend it to anyone who wants to have fun but also wants to be emotionally hurt about a crab searching for his home.

A very unusual game concept — you play as a crab fighting in a Dark Souls–style world… over trash. Yes, trash. Even better, the currency in the game is microplastics, which somehow makes perfect sense for a crab. Weird, creative, and surprisingly fun.
