Endless Voyage is a new deckbuilder trying to make a place for itself within this rapidly expanding genre. The game released in what appears full release, but should be labeled as Early Access. There is enough gameplay to keep the player entertained and enough progressive unlocking of cards and modifiers to make it worthwhile, but the fact that there's a single hero/class available and another as a placeholder means that the game shouldn't be called full release by a long shot. I am writing this review on day 2 of launch, so I hope to see many improvements and updates coming through the pipelines.
In its current state, the game launches automatically in Chinese, and if you have trouble getting started, I made a quick tutorial on how to switch the language settings to English:
Gameplay
People who are familiar with deckbuilders will recognize much of what this game has to offer without too much difficulty. There's a starting deck for your character (currently only one available) and you will participate in various random events, battles against normal, elite, or boss enemies progressing along a tri-fold branching path with options every third node. Gain new cards, money, relics, and trim your deck to your liking to suit your style.
The fights against enemies are turn-based with you knowing what the enemies' actions will be next by clicking on them. This allows you to best-manage your own resources in the form of Spirit points that accumulate and do not refresh except through cards or abilities/relics that earn you more during the battle. Each card you play will have a cost, and you have a hand that you draw and discard if not used. There are discarded/used cards that get reshuffled once the deck is empty, and there are exhausted cards which will not return to the deck.
In terms of types of cards, there are the standard attack and defense cards, and also what are called resource cards that are used to get more Spirit. There are also cards categorized as skills, which also include supply cards and some defense cards. Lastly there is a group called minions, so of course these are summonables who help to fight on your side.
Both sides of the battle field are arranged in a 2x3 grid, with the player character occupying the center row in the rear, and you can fill up the other spaces with your minions. The enemies come in 1-6 in number occupying their respective spaces. This grid looks okay on the screen but it does limit the speed at which the player can play many cards that are required for specific targeting. I happened to misplay a good number of cards on the wrong targets, so I was rather displeased by this.
Instead of choosing your path at nodes and being able to see the entire path from the beginning of a floor to a boss, you can see 3 choices every 3 turns/events, and you can choose one of those paths. At camp, you can heal or unlock other possible choices depending on what other relics/cards/events you have unlocked during the run.
Your relics are permanent boosts for the duration of the run, and they usually come in the form of blueprints. You will have to use your hammers in order to craft blueprints into real relics. You have limited hammers, so it's important to make smart decisions of which relics you will craft. Some events/battles will yield a full relic, and so it's nice when you can save some hammers.
The full run consists of 3 floors, with a boss at the end of each floor. The difficulty going from floor 1 to floor 2 is noticeable, and rather dramatic progressing to the 3rd. I think this is done on purpose, and you really have to make hard decisions at many turns to decide how to maximize your chances of survival, including getting rid of cards, even ones that you might like, in order to increase your chances of drawing the ones that help you more.
The forge is only used to remove cards, as far as I know. You have to pay up to remove 1 card, and pay a bit more to remove a 2nd (can only remove 2 cards per forge). Some random events also allow for removal of cards as well. Sometimes there are also events that take a few of your cards and replace them with others. There is no upgrading of cards, which I really miss. There was one event I encountered telling me that it was going to modify 3 of my cards, I got excited until I went through and realized it was just going to replace them with 3 random cards. It was a very disappointing event, because I threw 3 nice cards at it, not 3 junky cards I would rather get rid of.
After you complete the main game by clearing the 3rd boss, your run comes to an end. And you can choose the next difficulty challenge setting for your next run. Also when you start a new run, you will be able to choose your own starting modifiers in the shop--the choice is not available until after the first win.
Controls
Mouse controls, I don't think there are keyboard shortcuts.
Graphics
The artwork is good, I think the cards look pretty nice. The animations are limited overall.
Music & Sounds
The music is quite repetitive and sound effects rather generic. I started to listen to stuff on YouTube instead after a couple of hours.
Audience
It's a decent deckbuilder, so people who want to explore more into the genre are probably going to have some fun with it. There are some more polished deckbuilders already, so those seem to be better options to beginners to the game. The training modules are fairly well-made, and are progressively available as you make your way through increasing challenges in the main game.
If you came here looking for a game built around a story, you will not get what you wanted out of here. The story is short, the lore is practically nonexistent. The starting comic-esque story lasts 3 pages followed by a most generic exchange between the protagonist and a mysterious stranger, and that's it. Finishing the run gives you a single art plate, and you are back to the menu screen.
Pricing
A bit pricey, to be honest, in its current state. It's clearly Early Access and is just not labeled as such.
Positives
+Decent gameplay mechanics.
+Nice card/relic synergies to keep you exploring different combinations amid the RNG systems.
+Relic blueprints is a nice system that allows the player to choose what upgrades to take.
+Pretty good art designs.
+Some interesting achievements to keep the player creatively playing (although a few unlocked on me on first win for things I never did--I just attributed it to early release bugs).
+Decent fun with everything put together.
Negatives
-Too easy to misplay cards due to grid positioning. Difficult to rapidly play cards.
-Forge does not allow for card upgrades, only pay to remove cards.
-Enemy actions you have to click on the enemies to see, would be nice to see over their heads instead with the intended targets.
-Translations spotty in places and unclear in certain cards/events.
-Lack of story.
-Repetitive music, generic sounding sound effects.
-Should be labeled Early Access.
-Some enemy AI decisions are questionable.
Conclusion
Endless Voyage is a decently fun but flawed deckbuilder that really should be labeled as Early Access. How many more times should I say that? It has enough to any player occupied and has a nice tutorial system that progressively unlocks as you play on.
Even with its flaws, I would give it 7/10 currently on day 2 of launch.
That being said, if you haven't played Slay the Spire, go there first.
I received the product for free. I did not receive any compensation to write this review. The opinions represented here are entirely my own and were not influenced in any way.

Well, was not Captain Jeans best Day.
The Crew of the Female Pirate Captain found a Chest.
And open it, seems to be a Good Idea.
What could be inside?
Treasure? A long lost Secret? A powerfull Artifact?
Nope!
Just a swirl that took them to Hell …. or somewhere else.
Welcome to ENDLESS VOYAGE.
After opening her Eyes a mysterious Person appears.
Why mysterious? Well, when you see all the Time his back and not his front, you can be suer that he is a mysterious Person. Anyway, that Guy told our Captain Jean, that she is some kind of Dead. She is not in Hell, but in the Soul Realm and she has to get ready for an ENDLESS VOYAGE, to get back to life. So, how could she do this? Just to fight her way out!!!
With Cards…..
Many Cards….
Many, many Cards.
Did you ever played MAGIC-THE GATHERING?
Yes, that famous Cardgame, where you raise Mana and summon Creatures and also use Spells of all Kind to defeat your Opponent?
ENDLESS VOYAGE reminds me very much to it.
Well, my MAGIC Days are long over. About 10 Years now, but i still have my Cards. So ENDLESS VOYAGE catched my Interest.
You start with a well done Tutorial in Form of a small Campaign. Here you will learn all the Basics you need to know. Unlike to MAGIC you will fight Monsters here, not another Opponent with same Talents. But these Monsters are able to summon other Monsters and use Spells, too.
The Battles go Round by Round. Most Cards needs the Element Spirit (Mana in MAGIC) that you can raise with special Cards. With the Spirit Element you are able to Summon Minions and use Spells.
In the Beginning your Card Deck is very low, but with each Card you get stronger and can try more Combinations. Get better Cards, destroy older Cards. The more Cards you get, the lesser the Chance for appearing them in Battle often. So, take your Time and learn from the Tutorial.
After the Tutorial you can start a Campaign. This is parted in Chapters, where you have each time the Choice of 3 Ways. Choose wisely. Your Health will not restored after a Battle. Make sure you have a Camp on your Way if needed. There are also opportunities to craft better Cards or visiting a Store. You can also met Persons on your way, who may help you. For Gold of course.
YOU choose the way, YOU choose your Cards, so YOU have to win on your own way.
Good Luck.
I like the Graphics and the Sounds. And i like the Monsters. A monster called Grill Chief, an octopus Monster that grills his own Tentacles on a Grill in front of him and throws them after you, is a Monster you don`t see every Day. Very nice done!
Also nice to see, that there are more Characters to come. Soon Captain Jean will be not alone anymore, but momently, she ist he only one you can play. That is no Problem, because the Game is really good and addicting. I love it and i´m excited for the Things to come.
Thanks to the Developer for getting me back to my cardplaying Days. Well done.
And thank YOU for reading.

Endless Voyage is a solid entry into the Deck Building genre, a type of game that has flourished since the success of Slay the Spire.
If you are just starting out playing these kind of games, then it would be better to start with some of the best of this style, which would be Slay the Spire, Monster Train, and maybe Griftlands. Still, after you have logged some hours with some of the better known Deck Builders, you may be looking around at some of the other games that have come out recently, and Endless Voyage is worth checking out.
The graphics are nice, (better than StS, actually), and the game performed well, with no glitches or bugs for me, though they could use some more work in translating some things into English. When checking out the lesser known deck builders, like Knock on the Coffin Lid, Ring of Pain, Vault of the Void, or Endless Voyage, which game you pick up may come down to price & what is on sale. Endless Voyage is priced at 16.99, which is a fair price, and if you get it on sale, even better.
One feature that I really liked is that you can save & exit in the middle of the run, and come back and continue the run later.
One thing that I didn’t like, was that if you lose while you are playing the tutorial, then you have to start at the beginning. Now, I understand that the game is a RogueLite, and during the game that is to be expected. However the tutorial is broken up into many sections, and if you die, you shouldn’t have the game tell you to try again, and have to start all over. The point of a tutorial is to learn the game so that you can then play the game. I died 40 minutes into the tutorial, and was not going to go back to the beginning and do it all over again. I have been playing the game since then, and when I come across something I am not sure about, I wonder if it was covered in a later part of the tutorial.
I enjoyed it, and any fans of the genre should as well.

Endless Voyage is a Strategy / Card game developed by Dalaran Game Studio.
Gameplay / Story
Are you looking for a card game of all Yu-Gi-OH? Then you could find what you are looking for here, only these are other cards. At the beginning of the game you can choose whether you want to play a small but fine tutorial to get started, to get to know the basics better and so as not to fall into the cold water, as they say. I have to say that this was implemented well and explains everything to you and thus introduces you to the game. I don't want to go into the story or duels so much in order not to spoil and take away the fun of the game, but I still mention smaller things that have nothing to do with it.
A memory system has been integrated into the game itself, so that you can simply pick up where you left off in the tutorial or in the story later. It works just like in other games, you end one duel and the next one is unlocked. The best part is that each new one naturally brings new challenges and the outcome depends on how good your deck is or what cards it contains. Of course you could also compare it with gambling because sometimes you have good cards or sometimes bad ones.
During your adventure, you adapt, build and change your deck again and again, so that you are armed for every type of duel in order to end it victoriously. Various objects have also made it into the game that give you a bonus or artifacts that give you special additional powers.
Each run is special and brings new surprises with it, all of which are just waiting to be explored by you. There is only one thing left for me to say: listen to the heart of the cards and you will master all challenges, no matter how difficult they are, and emerge victorious.
Pro
+ many card variants
+ Deck structure
+ good scope
+ every run is different
+ Artifacts and other items
+ Achievements
Contra
- few setting options available
Conclusion
Endless Voyage combines collecting the Cards with a Mix of Action that never seems boring.

Information / Review Deutsch

There are better games in this niche, like Slay the Spire, and this has some untranslated phrases in the English localization -- but despite that, I still recommend this game as a worthwhile entry into the deckbuilding roguelite genre.

Very good deckbuilding game. Fun and relaxing to play. No updates but here is enough contents already.
Steam User 4
This game is truly excellent, there is enough different things going on to keep it exciting. Even the various minions have their own abilities and can gain strength and health. For instance, the gunner does 4 x 1 damage to a random enemy, however as he gains strength this can become 4 x 10 damage etc. The game feels quite polished and is different enough from other roguelike card games out there (and I've played most of them). I would very highly recommend this game.
