Cosmic Waves
Cosmic Waves is an entirely new take on the classic arcade genre of block destruction. It merges the well known gameplay elements like various block types and pickups with many new and cool features like:
Force wave emitting towers – control the ball’s direction with the towers, enhancing its power, bursting through the blocks and activating different reactions of the objects on the level.
Bosses – it’s not only about destroying blocks, there are boss fights as well!
Bonus levels – and some bonus levels to get more of those points!
Destruction – what’s better than simply destroying blocks? Blocks that crumble into pieces while you hit or shoot at them!
Dynamic camera – why play from the same perspective all the time when there are so many more possible, and it can even change during level.
Time manipulation – it goes really well with those towers allowing for some great combos.
Varied level objects – it would be boring with only blocks so there is much more for you to discover.
Cool Characters – you can choose your main character each with their own special attack and also meet others along the way.
Incredible Music – and on top of it all a great soundtrack made by Module!
And more coming in the full version:
Progression system
New bosses and enemies
Many new objects and levels

Really nice arkanoid/breakout variant. Lot's of added progression mechanics, as well as a unique take on it at all. It adds area- "pinball flippers" effectively, adding more interactions. Which mixes up the gameplay well enough, while the physics are solid enough on their own to carry the game, imho.

Verdict
Cosmic Waves takes a dead genre and actually makes it fun again, with towers, weapons, bosses, and roguelite upgrades.
One minute you’re bouncing a ball, the next you’re curving shots with angles that could get you an internship at SpaceX.
It’s chaotic, and pretty addictive (I played 86 hours total, including most offline hours, and it's now staying in my Arcade games collection).
It's still not as good as Shatter. but nothing really is.
The core loop is a blast and the sound effects hit hard, but the flat visuals and plain presentation keep it from really popping.
Still, if you can look past the rough edges, you might find yourself up way past bedtime… muttering “just one more run” until you become an idiot sandwich.
