It has a very nice artsyle and interesting world. It's very reminiscing of old newgrounds game, especially the 'collect all the deaths' aspect.
The Undertale influence is very visible (maybe too much?) but it quickly become it's own thing. There's definitely a lot of secrets and deep lore stuff to find and I know I already missed a bunch of those, I'm just not very good at secret hunting.
It takes a WHILE before any fighting / non-puzzle gameplay happens, it took me like an hour before even getting to the fight tutorial but the fights look good from what I saw so far. Also takes like half an hour before you can really do anything.
Some of the puzzles stumped me for a second, the game definitely doesn't spell them out to you, at least not without dying a bunch first. The point and click stuff can also be finicky, especially if you click a bunch or fast.
My main problem so far would be that the game is strangely slow, like outside some animations, the text and moving around, everything could be a 1.25 or 1.50 times speed and it would feel a lot better.
There's some translation issues but nothing all that hard to understand regardless.
Overall definitely a cool game so far and I hope people will give at chance.

definitely potential, depends on your patience! in agreement with other review(s), the game could stand to be at the "sped up" left-clicking speed by default, and the attrition aspect of the puzzles isn't to my tastes, but it clearly has love put into it and it wears its influences on its sleeve
one to give a try!

Undershadows is an interesting game, concept-wise. Imagine a mix between a horror point-and-click adventure and an RPG made in RPG Maker. Can you picture it? I couldn’t either – but here it is.
And honestly, after playing it for about an hour, I’m not quite sure what to say.
The story is intriguing, with a few nice touches of dark humor and references to pop culture (for example – Horatio and his iconic sunglasses removal before delivering a “wise” line).
On the other hand, out of that one hour of gameplay, I actually played for maybe 20 minutes – the rest was taken up by dialogue and long “cutscenes” in the game’s distinctive but rather ugly art style.
All in all – an interesting experiment, though I’m not entirely sure I like it.

I'm still a bit hesitant with my rating since I haven't finished it yet, but so far, this is a great indie gem. With a bit of polishing here and there, I think it's going to be a wild experience with fancy music. A bit out of the Box
