Billy’s Nightmare
Abilities & Items, based on child logic
Poison bullies with a pair of Stinky Socks, set creepy toys on fire with a
Magnifying Glass or make them step on some painful Pego Bricks!
And since all abilities use cooldowns instead of ammo, there’s no need
to save them for later.
Tons of unlockable outfits with unique playstyles
Dress up as a Pirate, wielding a flintlock pistol and a cutlass for
close-quarters combat. Or maybe dress up as a Magician and keep your
distance, while your deadly bunnies do the work for you. Every outfit in
Billy’s Nightmare starts with a unique primary ability and a more
powerful secondary ability.
Fast mounts for exploring
Since you can’t run very fast in a nightmare, every outfit in the game
comes with its own mount. As long as no nightmare creatures are around,
Billy can use his mount to travel faster.
Friendly combat pets
Fire-breathing dragons, snowball-throwing yetis and barking dogs. Find
the Pet Shop and adopt a friendly pet that will help Billy in his nightmare.

Finished the gameplay loop for several times.
I really like rogue like twin stick shooters in pixel art, so was following developers channel about how they were developing the game, it was made very professionally and interesting, many details and choices are hidden behind this game.
So what I like:
1. Shooting - it's good
2. Build creation - something new actually, you have 2 active skills on your choice, primary and secondary attacks depends on your costume (Especially Boogeyman and Dovakin costumes, great attacks and game-play rhythm)
3. Active items - they fun and unique, consistent with the game lore
4. World and story - pretty consistent, relevant bosses and enemies
5. Coop - both local and remote
What I think could be better:
1. Cooldowns block using skills when you use a primary or a secondary attack
2.Insufficient light - A little bit dark sometimes
3. Pixel art style - do not understand me wrong, in general it's good, but the style sometimes is too much basic, while I see that it can be better for some models and envs. Actually I think that the game is not very popular because of the style and posters, because technically the game designed great
4. Companions are not transferred with you to the next floor
5. Bosses are not affected by some effects at all, such as scare and other
Would be great, if:
1. There will be more items, especially passive items, maybe some flying orbs, more companions,
2. More floors and content of course
Conclusion: for this price, it's a super game especially for genre lovers as me. Very sad that this game has so little reviews and almost forgotten, considering how much effort were put by devs. I hope devs will create something else or with size the franchise and will find success on this complicated filed

Kinda like more wholesome Binding of Isaac (Gameplay is closer to Enter The Gungeon, though) where you play as little kid and fight the Boogeyman to help the Sandman.
There are around 7 floors to clear each round, all of them themed around what might scare a 6-8 year old (Living toys, school stuff and scary movies). Challenge ramps up quickly and there are lot of outfits/items that change up your playstyle to some degree.
I'd give it neutral, leaning towards good score.
