A Distant Stabbing
Are you stuck in queue, waiting for a match to start? Is your rank too high, and the servers are struggling to find you opponents of equal skill?
Do you want to play something in the meantime that will tilt you before you even get in?
"A Distant Stabbing" was made for exactly that!
A strategic platformer where every arrow you shoot could bring you closer to your target at the top of the tower, or take you all the way back to where you came from. Or worse.
Challenge yourself or others to see how quickly you can reach your goal, while being efficient with how many shots you take to get there.
Shoot, teleport, repeat. The GameUsing angles and patience, aim each shot to achieve the perfect bounce (or stick) of your arrow to ensure you gain as much height upwards as possible. The longer you charge a shot, the more likely the arrow is to bounce! Once it sticks, your hero will teleport to that location, so you can restart the process. The TowerAs you work your way up, you might notice something strange going on in this sleepy tower! Explore environmental storytelling that hints at a greater threat than your target at the top. Who knows how deep this story goes? The HeroPlay as a nameless, voiceless, idle hero who absolutely needs to take out the man who owns this tower. Why? Mostly so that this game can happen. Only time will tell. Why?I wanted to make something that would make people angry. I also wanted something to play while I waited for a match to start in other, better games.
It feels great to climb, it feels bad to fall, but it feels even worse to fail right after also losing a ranked match of something else.StatsI have included a basic Stat tracker to ensure no achievement is earned without proof. See for yourself, and show your friends, just how many times you beat the tower. Or had "accidents".
"A game designed to upset us ?
I wonder how you came to the conclusion that this would be a good sales pitch."

I played 6 minutes of this game and uninstalled it. I will now spend the next 6 months re-installing it, getting frustrated, un-installing...repeat.
Highly recommended if you think your" life could be worse" and you want to test that theory.

In line with the theme of the game, I feel like the developer has stabbed me from a distance when I play this game.
Watching your arrow bounce around and ruin 15 minutes of progress is like watching your high school crush end up with your bully, it's a slow and inevitable pain, but you keep hoping and trying anyway because you don't know any better.
Ended up upset and quitting when my arrow went through a few grates and I ended up way lower than where I started.
10/10, game came through on its promise. Would rage again.

Fun with a few annoying level issues (forever fall and interactive parts that can permanently trap the arrow). Overall though, a good game if you have a spare 20-30 minutes of free time.

A Distant Stabbing is an amusing game of accuracy and infuriating failure.
So, you’re on a roll and you think you’re going to reach the top? No, back down boy!
The graphics are fantastic, and the game is very fun.
Well worth the purchase!

This game is like a metaphor to my life. The higher you climb, the steeper you fall. Seriously though, really fun, and frustrating game. Addicting, and a great sense of satisfaction when you get further every time. Made me swear out loud a couple of times.

This game did exactly what it said it would: kept me pleasantly entertained and simultaneously incredibly frustrated while in cue. Gonna love to hate this game.

This game made me cry more than the intro to The Last Of Us (Part 1).
