Pan-Dimensional Conga Combat
Conga Combat is not a typical arena-shooter. Defend yourself against the pan-dimensional critters using your bullet tail, close enemy portals by looping around them and charge up your hyper-destructive mega-lazor by laying a path of bullets in front of the mindless, drifting purploids. Oh, and stay the hell out of the way of the EVIL X – those dudes are BAD news!
Combining trippy visual effects and coffee-break sized bytes of hardcore action, Conga Combat can be played solo in either arcade or survival mode. Arcade plays like a typical coin-op, with the player starting from the beginning each game, jumping from dimension to dimension by achieving the ever-growing kill-quota on each stage. Alternatively, the ‘pure’ survival mode sees the player facing an endless horde of increasingly aggressive geometric critters in a single arena for as long as they can.

I've been following this game ever since I saw one of RGCD's early videos on YouTube, while he was also working on an OUYA version. As soon as this game came out, I tried to get it asap, while waiting for this Steam version to come out. The developer kindly gave a Steam key for people who purchased it out of Steam, but I wouldn't mind purchasing it again.
The game's premise is simple, but challenging: you control your conganoid with your left stick, which "stretches" its tail and uses it to hit mobs and score the most. Some mobs charge your lazor, you must close mob-spawning portals, there are some invincible mobs and you must reach a certain kill count before advancing!
When you see the videos, it looks pretty simple and easy to play, which isn't far-off. The game itself it really simple to learn, but mastering and prolonging your gameplay's another story.
Really fun, addicting and challenging! For those who like arena-based games, it's really fun to play and the feeling is also great too. It's short, but has a great replay factor, which makes it a great game for short breaks (though I sometimes play it for a tad more ;D).
Also, it has a great soundtrack, which makes the game even more worth playing! :)

This is one of those great arcade games which are perfect for 10-30 minute quick plays. Global high-scores are integrated seamlessly, and it's really easy and fun to compete with your steam friends and community. Gameplay is very original, it looks like snake, but you use your tail to take out increasingly difficult waves of enemies, and maximising your combo scores. Graphics and animations are fun and lively, and the purple triangle critter commenting on your games adds a humorous twist.
Definitely recommentded

Pretty chill and simple arcade game similar to snake games where you kill enemies with a tail.

The most original release of the 21st century, forget the AAA drudgery and try this awesome title, fiendishly clever and fun!

It's hard to find already-existing games to compare this to because while the Snake or Tron comparison is obvious it has a lot more going on under the hood than that. Keeping the bullets lined up enough to charge the laser brings in a great risk vs reward of balancing offensive and defensive play. Nice level of challenge, seriously fun and has awesome music. Highly recommend.

This game is pretty unique. If you are the kind of person who says "where are all the quirky, unique high-score arcade games?" then the answer is that you need to buy them to show there's an audience: here is your chance.
A cool artstyle with psychadelic graphical goingson, unusual gameplay mechanics which prioritise forethought, and the ability to wreck everything with a massive laser. It's good.

A great rapid-fire arcade game. Hard as nails, and I'm still pretty bad at it, but it has that 'just one more try' quality about it. There's enough always going on that with practise you'll hit that satisfying mental state of 'flow'. Great use of rumble with the XBox controller support that adds to the excitment, the haptic feedback helps emphasise when your LAZOR powerup is charged. Multiplayer has that nice mechanic where both players have to die simultaneously for the game to end, so as long a one player can hang on until the other respawns you can keep going - makes it possible to play multiplayer even when one player is inexperienced.
Disclosure: Play hours don't reflect the hours I've logged since I was an early adopter and purchased it upon release on another storefront - Steam key was provided upon the Steam release. It's been more than a year since I first played it and I still pick it up now and again for a quick session.
