Project H
Note from the Developer
Hi there! Project H was originally developed with the intention of being a small prototype/proof of concept. It wasn’t the original intention to publish this project, but I decided to do so for the experience and to see how people would like this kind of game. I hope you all enjoy your time with Project H!
About Project H
Make your escape while a persistent spirit haunts your every move. From turning on/off lights to altering the environment around you, it is made clear you are not supposed to leave.
The spirit has the ability to:
– Turn on/off the lights.
– Turn on the radio.
– Open and close doors.
– Appear as a shadow figure every now and then.
– Haunt various items and furniture within the rooms, which alters their appearances. Some items/furniture have two stages of alteration while others just have one.
– Cause the phone to ring.
The spirit’s behavior is completely randomized, meaning a different experience for each player. Depending on how long you play, you may not even see all of the various alterations of the environment.

I enjoyed this tiny PT homage (?) Project H, despite not being able to complete it without a guide.
The gigantic pixel art style makes this a spooky fun game instead of 'yet another game I'll have to stop playing now, because I'm much too scared and not enjoying it at all.'
The enjoyable spooky fun...ish...ness(?!?) of the thing is what kept me around long enough to want to see it to its conclusion. And I even enjoyed THAT.
I only wish that in toning down the scariness of the visuals, it didn't hinder my ability to understand gameplay quite so much. I had no clue as to what several important items were until I saw a guide.
That said, I did stick around and used a guide, as did others, no doubt. It has a 42% completion rate!!!
Project H clearly has the ability to grab an audience. (But also, I'm guessing, leave a lot of us confused.)
I hope there will be many more gigantic pixel horror games, so even people like me will get to enjoy them.

For me, maybe I wasn't playing the game the right way because I couldn't find a "menu" to "pause" the game or even "stop" playing the game. I went back to Steam to try to stop the game. I thought the pixels would be more like Duke Nukem where I could make out what things were...but in Project H , items went into my "inventory" and I couldn't even make out what the items were supposed to be. Also, not only was there no music, there were no sound FX . I think the game could've benefited from at least some sound FX. But maybe I'm not the target audience for this particular game. Just because it wasn't right for me doesn't mean it was a bad game or someone else might not like it. I do think other people should try it and see if they like it.

really short point and click game with just a little bit of "horror", as it stands as a free game, it's perfect

Aww, I liked this a lot!
So simple and short. Always interesting to see how people create things with limited pixels.
