UNSORTED HORROR is a collection of 5 short first-person horror games, that revolve around detailed machinery in a dark dystopian setting. The majority of the games have a playtime of roughly 10-15 minutes and can be played through in one sitting. Choose a CD case, read the backside, and go on a small adventure.
THE GAMES:
1. Tartarus Engine – A group of plucky technicians exploit an ancient machine’s seemingly untapped vulnerability.
2. The Other Side – Operate a jury-rigged drill to secretly escape a corrupt bunker.
3. Control Room Alpha – Pull data from a nest of spiders.
4. Carbon Steel – Perform hazardous research in an abandoned facility.
5. Concrete Tremor – A game revolving around plastic explosives and soviet apartment buildings.

This isn't shock horror meant to jumpscare you. These games are more about the feeling of dread you experience living in absolute dystopias. The settings are impressive considering they're only meant to be played for such a short time and that they're free. There are even a couple interesting gameplay elements thrown in. Only criticism is that sometimes it's hard to know what to click on since everything blends in a bit with the art style but it's fairly minor.
Please check out Buckshot Roulette to support this developer so they can create more rusty worlds to explore. That's also just a fun game with a great art style.

This is made by the same guy who made Buckshot Roulette!
I was first introduced to Mike Klubnika last night when I bought Buckshot Roulette on a whim, and was instantly hooked on his style. When I found out that he had a free horror anthology-type game on steam I knew I had to download and enjoy it too. This guy make some bite-sized bangers and I can't wait to see what other little (Or hopefully big) projects he makes!

Outstanding collection of short horror games. Intro song, when you are selecting tapes, is perfect to set the right mood. Totally loving the aspect that it does feel like each game exists in the same universe.
"The Other Side"
Atmosphere is very strong. Premise of the game is pretty simple yet gripping till the end. There's a great sense of isolation and dread in a room with drilling machinery.
Your levels of curiosity and anxiety will increase incrementally. Sound design is outstanding.
"Control Room Alpha"
Great little game that plays with your arachnophobia, if you got one. And if you don't, you might find those big spiders cute and will want to pet them.
"Carbon Steel"
Similar concept to "The Other Side". Absolutely loved the environment, puzzle elements and interaction with the computer. Rusty, grimy and very atmospheric indie horror.
"Concrete Tremor"
Powerful concept and a very cinematic approach. War environment was perfectly depicted, a game of battleships was carefully implemented and sound design was on a high level, once again. Totally unique experience.
Those concrete walls are menacing.
"Tartarus Engine"
So far, that was one of the craziest experiences. The Tartarus ending was mind-blowing, very trippy and gave a doze of existential dread. Consciousness is definitely not something to play around with. And that's pretty much where our society is going.
High-tier production on all games. Well done, Mike.
P.S. Highly recommend to check out a predecessor horror compilation game called "Unsorted VHS", which was released a year earlier. It's not on steam but easy to find.

The most surprising aspect of this game is the fact that it's free. A collection of games that although short are amazingly fun and interesting. Hats off to Mike Klubnika for releasing this game and I can't wait to see their future projects.

Concrete Tremor is a motherf*cker of a game. Very, very high quality, uncompromising indie horror. A really impressive project overall, really looking forward to getting Buckshot Roulette on Steam!

This compilation of little horror appetisers is more than good enough to charge money for. Each piece references some kind of horrible dystopian future and you usually play as some poor schlub who has to operate and repair machinery to survive. Each game will introduce you quickly to your claustrophobic environment before leaving you to tinker - gameplay wise, most are not dissimilar to a simplified version of mechanic sims like My Summer Car (if you were to be bolted into an iron box with just the engine and told to fix it or die). Tension is maintained with time limits or consequences for misjudging the correct settings for your machine. The visuals are very basic but extremely stylized and evocative - anyone who arrives here from Buckshot Roulette or Iron Lung will feel right at home. The ability of the dev to cram an entire game with satisfying mechanics plus worldbuilding and atmosphere into such tiny packages is really impressive. It's like an expensive box of fancy chocolates except each treat is a little ruined world threatening you with a horrible death. And it's free! If you're a horror fan there's no good reason not to play this. I suspect they'd go over well on horror-themed streams too if that's your thing.
