Great game. A lot of items and meta progression. Fun gameplay. Thx for not making me pick up xp :)

It's pretty good, but there are some major balance and pacing issues (as of 1.4) that keep me a little on the fence. There's a good bit of variety and longevity to the progression, and some interesting systems available, but some feel mistuned or undercooked. There are big difficulty spikes between maps and during a run, and sometimes it feels very cheap (a rusher type enemy hits you into a small group following you and you take close to a dozen hits in a second or so and die from nearly fully health). Every character has a melee and a ranged ability, but with most both aren't really viable build paths, and generally melee is the worse one. You gather wood for upgrades but in the course of the 20 minute rounds it's incredibly easy to just harvest all of it and not be able to upgrade at the last couple of upgrade screens (maybe it could use some sort of regrowth or interest mechanic?) The base game sound is incredibly loud (I'm at like 3% and 8% volume sliders.) The item descriptions are not always clear or well explained (what's final critical vs. critical?) The "survivor rank" score screen has to fully animate before you can skip it, and it doesn't actually seem to matter for progression. The damage numbers are big enough to cover up enemies entirely when hitting a lot, but the damage over time numbers are a third the height and are hard to notice (and maybe fire damage is really strong?)
There is some good stuff here, and if you like survivorlikes/bullet heavens this will probably scratch the itch, but I find myself frequently frustrated with things that are unclear, feel cheap, or just feel poorly paced. You seem very incentivized to redo early levels for 'prestige' run benefits because the coin payout in later levels can't possibly justify the difficulty spike, but that difficulty spike is also a raw stats check rather than particularly interesting or varied mechanical elements. It seems there are regular updates, so I hope some attention is paid to evening out some of the bumps, glitches, and unexplained mechanics in coming patches.

Fun little game, totally worth price, 16 unlock-able characters, bunch of achievements to do.

The game is enjoyable, but please, get a proofreader ?
A good portion of the items or stats is not explained, or their description is poorly written and hard to understand.
Huge difficulty spike between map 2 and 3
Cheap game, not polished with some game-ending bugs, but for the price, I'd say it's fine

First of all i enjoyed the game a lot.
I'm only missing one last achievement after that i'm done with the game until a patch or new content.
I recommend it only for action-roguelikeplayers.
Here some positive points and things to change in my opinion:
Positiv:
- fun quick gameplay
- quite addictive (in the beginning)
- nice difficulty-curve that requires me to learn about the game, dodge skills and make smart decisions with level-ups
-Monstercards are fun and a nice way to have a fun lategame
-mechanicly diverse monsters
-no bugs or problems in 15h
- crafting is fun
Things to change in my opinion:
- Make it more obvious what differentiates the individual characters from each other
- explain what your gamemechanics do (for example the elemtal effects)
- don't give me the pingsound for carddrops and then have me search the whole map because i'm playing a ranged character
- endless is no fun when i can walk away from my computer for minutes or more
- let me ban items or preselect loadouts for characters (i don't need melee characters iteams on my ranged builds etc.)
- let me spend more money in the shop maybe for stuff like my previous point
- give me a monsterwiki

I am not a big fan of the roguelike action/rpg games. I do like stories, and in this genre you have none.
That being said In Woods is addicting and i simply can't stop playing it (at least until i get all achievement).
You can find my (not so) short gameplay review here:

I’ve been playing In Woods for a bit now, and for the price, it’s a fun bullet hell experience. I’ve tried most of the classes, and some are clearly in need of balancing. A few of them feel super RNG-reliant to have a good run, while others, like the Archer, seem a bit too powerful, just steamrolling through every difficulty.
The sound effects could use some work. After hearing the same damage sounds a thousand times, it gets old, especially when there’s a lot going on at once. Plus, some of the English translations are a bit off, making certain power-ups and abilities a bit unclear as to what they do.
Still, for what you pay, it’s a solid game.
