This game will do things to you. Your body, mind, and spirit shall not leave this experience unchanged. You will forever wake in the middle of the night, trembling, because you cant erase the memory of this game. Your therapist will avoid you out of fear they may hear even a word of the horrors this game has instilled upon you. You will not be able to look at a full moon without frothing at the mouth and fainting.

bought this cuz some fucker on reddit lied and said it was the easiest touhou game for beginners. IT IS NOT. GOOD GOD. This game drives me insane

The hardest of the Touhou series. I can't exactly recommend this game if you're new to the bullet hell genre as the last two stages (Clownpiece and Junko) are really difficult on EASY mode even with pointdevice.
The soundtrack is sort of "modern" compared to most other Touhou soundtracks people are aware of, but it does have the classic ZUNpet in many of the tracks and overall I do like the OST (you might go insane after hearing Clownpiece's theme repeat after the 50th time though).
If you're a Touhou veteran, you shouldn't be looking at the reviews and should be focused on Lunatic + No bomb + No Miss. If you're an amateur, i still recommend this game. I had a lot of fun playing it even if it took 266 retries to beat Easy mode. If you're new.... well just go play Mountain of Faith first before this one.

The "Pointdevice Mode" bestoweth mercy upon mistakes, turning frustration to learning, and chaos to mastery. The music, a celestial harmony, doth guide thy soul as thou weavest through radiant storms, each pattern a dance of light and serenity.
Thus, though a storm it seemeth, within its maelstrom thou shalt find true repose. Verily, no game relaxeth like this.

To say this is the hardest game in the series is an understatement. LoLK requires a lot of existing experience in the genre to get through, it feels like the difficulty starts as if you're already on Stage 5-6 and only gets worse. Anything after the first stage can become a struggle. The biggest benefit is this game's theme of "purity" which makes a lot of the patterns look horrendous but quite simple to solve for the most part. Because of this, Doremy and Sagume are probably my favorite parts of the game, but then stage 5 made me question if I could ever clear this game. My biggest gripe is the extreme micro dodging, especially on Junko, as it feels next to impossible to pass some spells on controller. The environments can also make it quite difficult to see bullets sometimes which can make it seem like you're being hit out of thin air. Still the quickest touhou game i've cleared due to how cheesy Reisen's bomb is and was the only reason I managed a 1cc the first time I reached Junko. At least the music is really good in my opinion but could definitely be hit or miss with people, and I quite like the character designs. The extra stage is also my least favorite so far but it may be in part to the difficulty of it, Nue stays the best extra boss for me. Really hellish experience that has a ton of ups and downs but still overall enjoyed it and the learning curve, Playable Reisen/10

Game is hard, but a lot of fun. If you want to try Touhou I recommend getting one of the other games on steam, but if you want to this one is fine. You will die. A lot. but you can learn the patterns and work your way up. Or go straight to Lunatic mode and not make it to the stage 1 boss, I can't stop you.
Also yes, Reisen is busted, Sanae is good with her bomb, Reimu is balanced and good luck with Marisa
