A sequel to a beloved game I've played in the past, in a new incredible and wacky world for us to uncover!
Overall, I very much enjoyed this game, and would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a visually appealing, laid-back experience.
First, I'd like to go over some of my issues I've come across throughout playing this game, one of which many people seem to notice immediately: the game is locked at 30 frames per second. While it is true that it makes the game feel less smooth, in my opinion, the game is still very much enjoyable with the content it offers, with 30FPS not ruining the entire experience for me.
With that out of the way, some people might get frustrated with shooting the ball. On some holes, you may find a sense of scale or depth to be misleading, causing you to miss your shot. This is important for some achievements, like the age of escape's hole 15 one, where you have to score without falling off. What i found most helpful to solve this, was to aim it just a bit more left, or upwards, depending on where I'm aiming. Very rarely, you are able to clip out of bounds, due to how the levels/layers work, hell I've even managed to land on top of one of trip 4's hedge thingies, which made me have to reset the hole. Speaking of trips (challenge-like series of holes with optional modifiers that change up the holes), the par modifier is very challenging, in a bad way. Usually, you think, oh, I'll just do it on trip 1, the easy one, and then you end up stuck at hole 86, which is possible, then run into hole 90, which just requires a pretty precise shot, most of which I would say no casual player could solve. From what I know, they were intended to be smooth and easy, but somehow got approved as these difficult ones despite being passed by testers. There are a few achievements that are also difficult, but if you're dedicated, I would say all of them are reasonably difficult! Due to a lack of a hole selection feature, if you fail once, you have to start all the way over from the beginning of the entire age (as in the entire level, to get to a specific hole to get a chance at making it).
With all the bad I could think of for now, it's really not that bad. Sure, they are flaws, but the game is still wonderful, which I'm going to talk about in this part, starting with: the hole design. I mean, see for yourself! You have a trailer demonstrating some portions, but man, there is still so much "awesome" to be seen! I can't tell you how much i love this game. At some point, you also unlock DNA mode, which unlocks the old color thingies, as a new cool different way to play the game! It also enables you to decorate your entire world with various creatures and gizmos, which I find super neat! For later in the game, you may find yourself playing trips! I really love the added variations each modifier adds to all the levels! Like with the roguelite ball making everything more deadly, or the explosive one adding new safe landing spots and such! Or just even all the trips in general with how they are all unique with features, while somehow still being simply cool!
Speaking of cool, there are zero loading times! Everything works together perfectly! I love this game! (Did I say that already?) The soundtrack, the sounds, the visuals, the mechanics, the hole design, the silly, everything!
Here's another compressed overview:
Overall, I give this a 9/10, it's not perfect, and it doesn't have to be. To me, it's still an incredibly wonderful piece of art, that anyone should consider taking an enjoyable look at. I'm not sure if an update was coming any time soon, however, I've found that the developer does seem to respond in forums!
I've run out of things to say... um... much love!

The original flash game has a special place in my heart and this game perfectly replicates the "wonder" that I had when I played it on Kongregate for the first time. Is this game perfect? Almost. The visuals are absolutely STUNNING and the course design is so delightfully creative. This is what sets Wonderputt apart from every other minigolf game. Every single hole of every single course is a new experience and I cannot thank you enough for making this game. It definitely deserves way more love.
Though, there are some things you should know before playing. First of all, this game is easy to play and pick up, but it's HARD to master. Either you can go get a degree in physics, or you can remember setup after setup to get optimal shots. For a chronic perfectionist such as me, not being able to practice single holes in order to perfect them makes playing through the game a chore once you've completed it casually. But this can all be bogged down to a skill issue because I'm probably just really bad at games? lol
Otherwise it's amazing, please play it and support the creators.
