[About NINJA GAIDEN Σ]
In addition to being able to pull off unmatched dazzling techniques with “Ryu Hayabusa”, a young ninja who has inherited the ninja arts of the Hayabusa style, with beautiful stages in a westernized Japan embellished with spirit-world motifs, and more, the game is packed with features that are a must-play for any fan of action games.
■The epic story can easily be enjoyed with “Hero Mode”
When you select the difficulty setting “Hero Mode”, Hero Mode is triggered when your health becomes low. With Hero Mode, you will guard and evade automatically, and can unleash ninpo as much as you want. Even casual action gamers will be able to feel the heroic thrill of escaping a pinch to turn the tables on the enemy and advance the game. Needless to say, difficulty modes that will satisfy hard-core gamers are also included.
[About NINJA GAIDEN Σ2]
Become Ryu Hayabusa, the ninja who inherited the “Dragon Sword”, a legendary blade, and once again experience high-speed ninja action in which you face battles all over the world. The game is also packed with additional features such as “Hero Mode”, a mode in which the player will guard automatically when they are in a pinch.
■In “NINJA RACE”, life or death depends on speed
“NINJA RACE” is a mode in which you must race across the map within the time limit while fighting high-speed battles. In this mode, the number of enemies you defeat in succession is counted as your “CHAIN”, and by stringing together a high chain, your attack power will increase dramatically. Also, you can pick up speed-up and time increasing items along the way, so attacking non-stop, defeating enemies as fast as possible, and gathering items will be essential to your strategy.
■Along with Hayabusa, 3 heroines dazzlingly dash about the battlefield
Heroines from the “NINJA GAIDEN” series, “Ayane”, “Rachel”, and “Momiji” appear as playable characters. With “TAG MISSIONS”, players can select 2 characters from among Hayabusa and the 3 heroines, allowing them to switch between 2 playable characters as they complete their mission.
[About NINJA GAIDEN 3: Razor’s Edge]
The ultimate high-speed ninja action has returned! The game offers both extreme “challenge”, along with an equally extreme “sense of accomplishment”. Experience the series’ most alluring high-speed action.
■In addition to Ryu Hayabusa, Ayane, Kasumi, and Momiji join the battle!
In addition to main character “Ryu Hayabusa”, the 3 female ninjas “Ayane”, “Kasumi”, and “Momiji” can be used as playable characters. And they aren’t limited to just the “Chapter Challenge” story missions – the 3 characters can also be used in “NINJA TRIALS”. Also, “NINJA GAIDEN” series heroine Ayane has a dedicated story.
■Thrilling battles where you must be constantly alert
“Tests of Valor”, a special phase for series fans who want to enjoy battles even further, have been included. In each chapter, there are hidden skulls that serve as gates to “Test of Valor” areas. By stepping foot onto these areas, battles will occur where players must face the fiercest and strongest enemies from the “NINJA GAIDEN” series.
■Upgrading characters adds more replay value!
By collecting hidden “Golden Scarabs”, using “Karma” collected in battles, and more, players can unlock new weapons and ninpo to upgrade their characters. Of course, upgrades you have applied can be carried over for 2nd and successive playthroughs. Among moves that can be unlocked, there are moves that are new to the series, such as “Cicada Surge”, which allows you to dodge any enemy attack, “Meditation”, which allows you to consume your Ki gauge to recover health, and more.

One of the best action hack&slash franchises of all time. I personally don't get why people have a bad opinion about this game overall, it has great fast paced skill based combat with multiple weapon types, banger soundtrack, alright story and the additional content added in Razor's Edge is amazing and adds replay value. The only real gripe I had with it is the absolutely horrible final boss, worst I've seen in a very long time. Add to that the fact that this game is hard as hell even on normal and you have a recipe for disaster. Besides that a solid 8/10 experience.

Greatest series of all time, please give us Ninja Gaiden 4. It's been 11 years.

Ninja gaiden 1 and 2 Masterpeice cheifs kiss, Ninja gaiden 3 is like a fkn roller coaster you start off with Yea this game is fun and isnt that difficult. Oh man not good healing well its a good thing my ninpo does! Then when you face off any boss it makes you wanna Rip your skin off slowly and painfully while lemon drops on your skin and you slowly realize that its the most unfair PoS ever in my gaming career. I beaten 3 once I will never touch it again. The final boss is just Makes me wanna compust into flames and fkn Die.
Edit: ive now beaten it twice and honestly all three are my favorite , tho ninja gaiden 2 is my favorite cause its enjoyable. Only bad thing is the camera and ninja gaiden 3 having a weird story and the most unfair final boss fight you will ever do.

it was so hard but it was good time

I think I like it mostly, except for the health/healing system.
No consumables are fine, but no health orbs drop either? Healing only from Ninjutsu and the meditation move? Weird. Also the semi-permanent damage to health bar to top it off. Talk about not having restraint.
Everything else is okay. If you already bought the collection might as well play this one too if you have nothing else to play.

I never played Ninja Gaiden 3, nor the original release of Razor's Edge for the Wii U, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I read online it was the hardest and most different of the trilogy, and it's true, this game kicked my ass countless times even on Hero mode with some absolute BS moments. Even then, this entry of Ninja Gaiden has grown on me to the point I consider it my favorite.
Combat is perhaps the best of the trilogy, encouraging dodging and executing combos actually forces you to get gud at the game, I love how enemies are as dangerous to you as you are to them, and it really goes to show that Hayabusa isn't invincible. Some of them spam proyectile attacks, but with good ears and the lock on bow they're little to no issue. All weapons feel fantastic to use, mainly the swords and the Lunar staff, and, controversial take but I'm glad essence is gone, that means you can't spam Ultimate Techniques as often as in Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden 2, and similarly with Ninpo, it being charged with hits and kills further encourages combat and not using it at random, as it's one of the few ways to heal in battle.
I like the Steel on bone, Idk, it feels wonderful to start a chain attack against three or four enemies and obliterate them in a visceral way. I know vanilla Ninja Gaiden 3 lacked any form of gore and thankfully it was properly reimplemented in Razor's Edge, to the point it's almost comical levels of gore when combined with the Steel on bone. Bloody Rage is also a great way to balance the UTs.
The story is simple at first, but it really gives thought on Ryu's actions and their consecuences on him and those who interact with him, it's not further from the truth that Ryu is indeed a killer, and I like how this game ends up humanizing Hayabusa, something I don't think happened in both previous entries. His relation with Canna is wholesome yet heartbreaking. I'm not a super fan of the regent of the mask's plot twist, but he's perhaps the best boss in the entire trilogy, his way to talk and corporal language really gives sort of a theatrical feel to him, and I like it, contrasts perfectly with Ryu's more serious attitude, and after seeing some footage of Ninja Gaiden 3, I'm glad the edgy sections of the lore were removed. Some people shit on the story, and I can understand that, but for me it's far more interesting than "kill big demon and avenge clan" or "kill demons and save world".
Some bosses suck and are and absolute chore to get through, and man the final boss is an absolute pain in the ass, even on Hero, it's best to use the Lunar staff as it actually charges the Ninpo quicker than the slashing weapons. Content wise this game is full of stuff, with three more playable characters (Ayane, Momiji and Kasumi) on trials and even full chapters of the game. The karma scoring system is actually useful in this game, rather than a simple scoring system it allows to buy upgrades, ninpo and even costumes for all four characters, same with Golden scarabs, too bad Muramasa's store is gone but this new system ain't bad either. Level design isn't bad, I like how it deviates from the non linear design of Ninja Gaiden 1, while not being as linear as Ninja Gaiden 2, it encourages enough exploration to find the scarabs and crystal skulls which is good.
Overall, while I can definitively see this one as the "Black sheep" and the worst of the three, it's still a fantastic game full of potential, too bad NG3 was such a mess but for me, Razor's Edge completely redeemed it and turned it around into a good, challenging game. Don't be afraid to check it out, warning, be prepared to suffer froustration at the beginning, but after playing this one for a while, the other two feel slower than before.
Recommended 100% for those who seek a challenging game.
