心境 VR / Mind VR Exploration
The Mind VR Exploration was selected in the 78th VENICE FILM FESTIVAL VR EXPANDED – Best Of VR.
What’s the Mind VR Exploration?
This is an unprecedented exploratory learning VR application.
The most cutting-edge VR digital technologies are adopted to bring an immersive experience with various elements, such as, Chinese classical architectures, implements, poems, and extraordinary imagination, to users, very impressive.
It is also the first time that Chinese ancient poems and Chinese classical gardens are integrated into one scene, and the unknown are revealed one by one in the form of answering questions, enabling users to set free their imaginations, and allowing them to perceive and savor the profound Chinese classical culture. Users may feel as if they are in their dreams.
After rigorous textual research, the “Xiaoxiang Pavilion” described in “A Dream of Red Mansions” is restored in a panoramic view, recreating classical gardens, furniture and daily scenes in the Ming Dynasty. You can pick up everything you like and play with it. You might even fabricate a Chinese “paper kite”, hand-write a pair of Chinese characters, and listen to the Chinese zither played by the ancients on the waterfront. It is like you travel through time and space, and witness the ancients’ elegance and panache. Finally, you walk in the wind, appreciate the transcendent Chinese natural scenery, and arrive at the next node of exploration.
Compared with the traditional VR applications in the past, Mind brings a higher level of immersive experience to users. Unparalleled impression will be engraved in the memory of users. For elementary and middle school students, it is a suitable education media, users (students) will be amazed by this peculiar learning method.

This is an approximately 15-20 minute long mostly cinematic experience running on the Unreal Engine. This is an educational app focused on Chinese history & culture. A small part of the experience is a 360 video, but most of it you'll just be teleporting from one spot to the other to do the selected activity involving very basic interactions.
You only have nodal teleportation. There is no smooth or snap turning, you must turn IRL. Unfortunately, the experience is not well optimized. On my 1060 GTX, I was getting variable frame rates from as high as 45 frames per second, to as low as 20 fps, and usually about 30 fps. This did effect gameplay as part of the experience has you doing calligraphy which was difficult because of the interaction not being polished, but also due to the low frame rates.
There are some very scenic moments and some nice tidbits of information about the history & culture of China. However, the performance issues really effected the experience for me. Since it's only $4 USD, I can give a very tepid recommendation to anyone interested in Chinese history or culture.
Rate 5.5/10.

I don't know why, but this app doesn't like Oculus Quest 2.
I gave this a positive since it seems to play fine on other headsets and it's actually a beautifully made experience.
Took a couple restarts to get it running on my 32GB RAM, RTX 3070.
But when it works, it's gorgeous and so relaxing.
Still suffers from less than smooth framerate which sucks but I'm chalking that up to the fact that it's not optimized for the Ques 2.

Beautiful,
Played with the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift S,
No issues of any kind and played very good with both types of Headsets.
One thing I wish for this game is snap turning.
Looks like it is made for more to come too.
Taught me a little Chinese Culture as well.
Thank you very much

This is a short exploratory experience (about 20 - 30 minutes) but for $3.99 simply can't be beat. Extremely well-made, high-quality, interactive, and enjoyable. This is an app to show to people who only see VR as games. I wish the author would make more. I would easily pay double for this type of quality. HIghly recommend to everyone. Note: I ran this on a 3070 with the Quest2 (via Virtual Desktop).

Not bad, full of potential. Need to be polished, Add few more place periodically. If there's a game like this with unreal engine 5 graphic it would be perfect.
cons: too short, too
little place.

Its ok.
The graphics are not as good as I had expected but it works well enough. It looks like bad 3D scanning in some parts. The english could use some work as some sections its very messed up. The poem that gets read to you from interacting with a music instrument I don't know if that was a direct translation but it ended being funny with wording.
There was an annoying transition when interacting with a musical instrument that had an area that was very nauseating like its a 360 video turned into a 3D scene. I don't know what was with that area.
The Kite ride was nice but also very short.
Im still not sure if it was worth the $6 AUD as it is very short.

A really lovely little game. Played on Valve Index and it ran very smoothly. A bunch of small cultural things to interact with, explore, and learn. Rewarded with a pretty environment flythrough at the end. I played through in about 45 minutes because I'm a 3D artist and took my time looking around the environment a bit.
