Not very faithful to the the books or the anime, except for the part where you use your roided up arms to guzzle gamer beans and strangle your friends. I've only put in about 18 hours but I know it gets good at the 20 hour mark!
Edit: 110 hours in and now I can say this is truly the best game ever

Before playing this game I was at my lowest of lows. I was in a messy divorce that ended with my horrid person of a wife took the kids, the dog, and my 5 dollar your way burger king meal. I was ready to lay face down and die in a ditch until I "kindly borrowed" a starbucks employee's laptop to play this game. This game touched like no other game I've ever played. This game genuinely turned my life around as I found new motivation and found true beauty in story telling. I know this game probably won't get game of the year due to how good it is, which is a real shame as its MY game of the year. I would genuinely recommend this game to anyone as if they did not play this game they aren't experiencing life. 8/10 there's a part in the third game in the trilogy that made me shit my pants. Will be remembered thousands of years from now, encoded onto granite and titanium tablets, as part of the greater canon of human literary achievement. The bond between the protagonist Ryukaze and his best friend Hiroshi is like Gilgamesh and Enkidu. My life has been forever changed by this masterpiece of the medium. I am forever altered, marred, I cannot go back, Phuckers in the Ashes will serve eternally as a demarcation point in my life, like graduating high school or the first time I made love to a woman. All I can say with regard to this game, though it feels insulting to even call it something so trivial as a game, so I shall call it an EXPERIENCE: Once you play Phuckers in the Ashes, there is no turning back. A divinely inspired magnum opus of antediluvian wisdom. I have meningitis

Despite their own merits, they cannot compete with the profound character development and intricate story-building found in the Ph ucker Saga. This novel stands alone at the pinnacle of excellence in the genre.
