Pills4Skills is a psychedelic precision puzzle-platformer that will test all of your reflexes. This is Petro Shoferystov’s first game on Steam but if you take a look on his YouTube channel he has posted gameplay videos of other games that he has designed as well (they’re also on his website). Some of them such as Project J look very interesting so I do hope that they make it past the concept and development stage and onto Steam at some point.
I tend to agree with ¡OOO67VH who despite only playing the game for about 35 minutes summed up how I feel about this one succinctly. It reminds me of VVVVVV if that game dropped acid. You need quite a bit of skill to be successful here although quite a lot of that comes from using your head as some of the levels are much easier than they appear to be.
There isn’t a lot that needs to be said for it. It pretty much explains itself – and better than words could put it – through the watching of the gameplay videos. You need to go through levels collecting pills – which causes the psychedelic distortion to take place every time – and a key before heading to the exit to advance to the next level.
The game has some nice Steamification in it with nine achievements and it is a part of the Steam Trading Card program which as you know I really appreciate. The game also has full controller support.
One brilliant note is that Petro even considered those of you that suffer from epilepsy and epilepsy-like symptoms when playing video games. You can turn the effects to low rather than a high setting and you should be able to play the game. Unfortunately because I am not a sufferer I cannot confirm whether it works but I am led to believe that it has been tested sufficiently – though your millage may vary.
At the $3 mark the game is an absolute bargain. If this type of game appeals to you from a gameplay and/or a visual perspective jump on it.

This game took me by surprise as I had quite a bit of fun than I thought I would with it and only found about 5 levels out of 72 a bit infuriating (which is really good for me and games like this).
The only problem that I have with it is that keys are not rebindable from what I could tell. The gravity control buttons default to “X”, “C” and “Z” which as someone who uses a QWERTZ layout is one of my biggest gaming pet peeves. And no, I wont change my keyboard layout just for one game.
Still, a good game!

Fun, simple little 2D platform game in which you jump about small spike-and-other-types-of-death-filled levels, collecting pills (which coincidentally distort your visuals in various fun ways), and collect a key with which you can use the exit, to go to the next level. You can also rotate levels by 90 degrees left or right, or 180 degrees.
For some reason, this game reminds me of my childhood. :3
Oh and btw - full controller support in game (though it was a bit iffy when it first started up, to navigate menus)

Surprisingly nice and refreshing platformer game.
You can switch gravity by your own will and as you collect pills things get more psychadelic visually.
Not recommended for people with epilepsy or flashing seizures.
There are 36 regular levels plus another 36 for more skilled players.
These are levels that individually get unlocked if you achieve A+ like scores.
Reminded me of the game defy gravity extended.

Ooh this game is fun. Really plays with your mind while you try to figure out how to get the pills. Love it!

WARNING: Very aggressive on the eyes.
NOT FOR THE PHOTOSENSITIVE AT ALL.
Platformer where your objective is to get to the goal while collecting 3 pills per level for max score. You can rotate the level which adds another layer to it.
Also each time you acquite a pill, very random video filters will apply to the game so that everything seems distorted and extremely flashy or maybe apply a lens or maybe turn the picture into a BETAMAX video. If you remember those.
It's ok and trippy but I'm concerned for anyone photosensitive that barely glances at it during it's most frantic moments.

This is a good platformer, the rotation-of-the-world-gimmick is well implemented and explored in many ways. The game is difficult at times but not ridiculous. The trippiness is sometimes a hinderance. The controls are good but sometimes the jump is not as sharp as one would wish.
