We Were Here Forever
You and your fellow prisoner are trapped in the realm of Castle Rock – were you betrayed, or simply not that clever? To escape, you must explore the sinister castle for puzzles and plot your escape together. Secrets and riddles are hidden in the shadows. Just be aware that nothing is what it seems in this mysterious Antarctic adventure. Can you two escape together, or will you be trapped… forever?
Locked up in the dungeons, deep in the bowels of Castle Rock, you and a fellow prisoner must seek a way out and return to stand again beneath the icy Antarctic skies – but escaping this nightmare will not be so easy, let alone escaping the castle itself. Freeing yourselves from your cells and escaping the Keep is only the beginning – but does one truly escape Castle Rock? Fresh mysteries await, and you’ll have to make some choices about how to proceed. Your journey leads from the dark prison through the royal halls to the outside. Outside the Keep, you will discover the story of Rockbury, it’s inhabitants, and plans of a resistance formed against the King to escape this icy place. Hope will lead you on to an eerie Graveyard and have you descend down into the dark waters of the Foundry.
You two have been brought here for a purpose. You might even be the missing piece of a puzzle set in motion long ago, in a time long forgotten. But someone, or something, desperately seeks to solve that puzzle, by any means necessary. Only an unshakeable bond with your partner will give you any hope of survival in the face of such dreadful desire…

Looking for more cooperative puzzling? There are currently four games in the series: We Were Here (free on Steam), We Were Here Too, We Were Here Together, and of course We Were Here Forever!
Every game in the We Were Here Series is a standalone co-op adventure – the stories are connected but you don’t need to play them in order. My sister and I played every game of this series, biggest so far and the most difficult. You have to use your brain or you and your partner will find a reason to rip each other apart.
Hoping for another part!

Do not play this game with your significant other, the levels of stress that the underwater section causes a fight to break out and me sleeping on the couch for several days.

I'm only writing this review to get the game more popular and thereby hopefully getting the devs to make another one. There aren't many games out there that truly focus on cooperative play and this is one of them. Had great fun solving the puzzles and mysteries with my buddy

This game, and series of games have some pretty big pros and cons. The pros are that the puzzles are different each time and feel new and fresh with each iteration of the We Were Here series. The con is that you need a friend to play these and as an adult aligning free time is like aligning planets.

Can't speak highly enough of these games. We Were Here Forever being the greatest of this epic series. The atmosphere and story cannot be overlooked. 10/10 masterpiece, worth buying the entire series even at full price.

Best game in the series by far
Took the advancements made in We Were Here Together and made them bigger and better. Felt very similar to RE8 but as a co-op puzzle game. I loved the atmosphere and the storytelling of this installment a lot, and the areas all felt very unique with puzzles that never felt stale or rehashed. Absolutely pick this game up whether you're a long time fan of the series or someone looking for a one-off co-op game to play with a friend.

Wow. What an incredibly fun experience. The atmosphere, the story, the voice acting, the puzzle design. It was all absolutely perfect, and created an extremely memorable experience between me and a friend of mine (and we only argued a little bit!).
What was especially satisfying was the key focus on clear communication, and each puzzle building on the last. My favourite ones were the ones with the focus on riddles and language.
There was only one major hurdle for us, but otherwise it was an amazing experience that we competed in 1 and 1/2 days.
The game felt like an advancement on older puzzle games, Myst etc. but a little more accessible and with an incredibly well done coop twist.
Overall an amazing coop game that I wish I could experience again! When is the next game coming out!?
